I know like nothing of eldar god fluff-but isnt the laughing god either
Dead
or trapped
or something else that means this is impossible?
it'd make more sense for this to be somethign similar to a ctan shard or soul essence
A god wouldnt show up to some random battle. even if it is apocalypse, gods are above being bothered to do that.
Other than fluff, which I slave for. Good, one thing
Imho his toughness would either be 7 or 6 not sure there.
I think master of annoyance should be reworked (the name for example bothers me for some reason 3: ) shouldnt make them attack him or something, it should be possibly be some re working of target priority? forced assault seems a bit over powered. you could save yourself a turn by getting a weakened squad to assualt the Laughing god, then inevitably die from it. seems to me imho over powered.
Other than that cool.

The fluff is a bit wrong I know, but still...
The Master of Annoyance rule could be reworked, but I'm not changing the name, since it works (it bothers or annoys you right? )
Maybe the enemy have the Furious Charge rule against him, but would always have to shoot him, if they are within 12" of the Laughing God.

Fluff on the lauhing god is that he is alive and well, he's the harlequins god and their souls join him when they die rather than using spirit stones etc.
Also when a solitaire dies Cegorach and Slanny have a little punch up over who gets their soul.
Its also been stated that many have met the laughing god cegorach and only realised afterwards.
But aside from that, the 'quin god is a creature of speed and trickery, flitting around the battlefield wreaking havoc, not plop him in the middle of the enemy, open a tank then force everything to assault him and take a ton of s4 hits every turn.
That said making harlequins troops is a nice touch, I'd also make it that he can only be taken if there's harlies in the list.
Also, if you check the DE extended codex in my sig theres a wip laughing god there. (I really need to write up the special rules for it...), theres also another one floating about that I'll link to later when not on my phone.

Cool, thanks.
I too thought that the Laughing God would be doing something like that...

Still working on it (and a fandex) though. Points should probably be lowered and some other things.

Totally overpowered imo for standard games, Apoc maybe not quite as much.
Which have you designed him for?

Thoms was the other thread I was going to link to :p
Ultimately, technically you could have 5 or more cegorachs that would all be valid in different roles and aspects of the trickster god, but for standard games you want somethingmore... a highly mobile but fragile counterpart to the avatar of khaine.
On a side note, I have my deciever and have almost finished stripping the paint from it so sometime in the next week I should be starting work on my cegorach conversion

@Ratius
I designed this for Apoc, and thought of making him a Gargantuan Creature, but then thought that it would look "cooler" if the rules were written for seperate reasons.
@Ovion
I actually could make something like that
How about each can be bought seperately, and cost 100pts each. The Laughing God can be played through including all 5 cegorachs (then you get the Laughing God only). Because of the point cost, I could improve the stats a bit.
Sound good?

The Avatar of Khaine is enough I dont see a need for Eldar to have another demi-god running around on the field costing 425 pts

The Laughing God is a god (odd I know). He is not an avatar of a god. He is not definable in 40k stats any more than Khorne or Gork is.

You mean the standard Codex Avatar?
Trust me in an Apoc game he is going to last one turn.
This guy seems to have been built specifically for apoc whereas the Codex one is more for standard games.

Wouldn't plunking a full-blown god entity on a battlefield be a bit... odd? Would a full blown god even fit into the 10-point system? Besides, Cegorach is a trickster and I highly doubt he'd let anyone know he was there in the first place.

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums. |

There's nothing saying he can't or wouldn't take part in any given conflict, be it for some important reason such as Slanney or a major slannesh demon / player / goal was involved and cegorach wanted to destroy / deny it.
Or just feels like confusing some folk with his presence for no apparent reason.

That's actually the least likely scenario to get him directly involved. Slannesh is gunning for him, and he knows he's doomed if such a conflict every occurs. That's why he hid in the first place.
