This is a model inspired by Eggroll's original rendition of the kitbash. There are lots of similarities and he deserves full credit for the concept, but I hope I have injected enough into to it to make it stand up in its own right...

C&C welcome!

Very good painting . . . but this is taking the "massive armour, bare head" syndrome to a whole new level!

Point taken, but half is head is metal anyway so the target is very small – and he's a Blood Angel – not known for their shyness

I have that same forgeworld base, it's pretty awesome. Good work on the mini but I'm a bit confused as to the lack of a sarcophagus front :/

The model and paintjob are very nice!

Although warfare wise isn't this guy just inviting a shot to the head?

Wait just a moment, is he turning his head for the third picture?
Is the head magnetized or is it just a creepy optical illusion?

Great work on the model, by the way!

That is creepy...

I also agree about the painting

Sweet Jesus, Nurgle and Slaanesh in the same box!?
No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

Awesome OSL! Although, Personally, i think its an awesome model, but the bare head ruins the effect for me. I think he would look better if you replaced the head with a helmeted one. Bare heads on dreads don't make sense to me.

Thanks for the comments guys!

@ Eggroll, thank you – it means a lot coming from the man who painted the model it was inspired by!

About the sarcophagus, it's definitely more of an artistic decision to leave it off than a realistic / tactical one. However I'm not sure how realistic a dead-guy-in-an-exoskeletal-walking-tank can be
The thing I like about it is it shows that it is a marine and not just a machine. That's one of the things that appealed to me about the Venerable Dread kit when it came out with the visible helmet.

About the head, he's still as protected as any bare-headed tactical squad sergeant. And the 'cyborg' head (which Eggroll also used on his) shows that the marine has suffered significant damage – half his head is metal!
And your eyes do not deceive you – it does move! It's not magnetised, just attached via a pin which fits snugly enough that it won't fall out but can also be turned.

Not a fan of the bare head, but the kit-bash in general is very well executed, and the painting is fantastic.

WHich is to say poorly protected. and I don't think having a half-metal head help when people are fiirng lascannons, missile launcher, meltaguns, plasma guns, rokkits, and railguns at you.

I agree there's a fluff issue with it, but I just think it looks badass

@ Pomyboy and dufflebag, cheers!
