Hey everyone,
been working on the annihilation barge and I'd like to know what you think so far. Especially about the tesla destructors, is the blue too much? too light? I wanted it to be clear that it is a 'lightning' weapon but I'm really not that good at object source lighting.
Still need to do a fine edge highlight of pure scorpion green in the corners as well as do the engine parts and pilots etc.
let me know!

If you could get a slightly better pic without any background stuff detracting from the model that would be appreciated! As it stands, your OSL looks very good from that picture. A closer view of it would make for a better judgement though. The green edges also look well done, but the contrast between black and bright green isn't one I particularly like - although I can't fault your method as the lines appear very nice and smoothly done.

Finland... the country next to Sweden? No! That's Norway! Finland is to the east! No! That's Russia!

That neon green really brings out the tank. I also like the OSL effects. Maybe some other colours could make it look better...

No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

The basecoat is actually a dark green but it's hard to tell with that light. Daylight brings out the green more. I'll try to take a better picture tomorow in some sunlight
Thanks for the responses so far

Could you tell me how exactly you did those green highlights, they look great and I'd like to emulate your technique thanks!

That's just an edge highlight of a 50/50 mix between dark angels green and scorpion green.
I tried to take a better picture but I think that because of the contrast between the dark green and the edges it's getting hard to tell it's not black. Still not an ideal picture but that's hardly my strong suit

I think you nailed the lighting effect.
The green looks good as well, although not the exact style I would have done, it looks very good.
Perhaps it is just the light, but the necron pilot is almost lost in the picture, as he appears too dark. Also, while sunlight looks good for pictures, rarely are games played in it; I would do your own personal comparisons under gaming conditions (ie. what ever lighting the locations you play at the most have).
Again, I think you nailed the lighting on the tesla weapons, good stuff.
Thank you for sharing.

It's looking much better now when it's not a WIP anymore.
You could add some red colours to it. Maybe some red on the sensors?

Looks pretty lightning gun to me. And it stands out against the rest of the model very nicely. Jobs a good one if you ask me

Thanks everyone for the great feedback! It's still not finished though (explaining why the pilot and gunner look so black, it's cause they still are ^^)

Very much liking your tesla weapons (I'm right in saying those are tesla weapons?), any chance of a quick rundown of how you did the slight OSL effect on them? Looking good so far!

See http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/412361.page for the finished barge
As for the OSL, the lightsource is done with skullwhite with a little bit of ice blue in it. The glow is done by doing some very thin layers of darkened ice blue on the surrounding area. Then a little highlight closer to the source with a darker mix between skull white and ice blue than the source was and it's done ^^

I think the OSL is solid - it's very light, but you've kept the source bright enough that that the light blue tint makes sense. I think keeping it very bright but localized was the way to go, there.
