Hello all,

Lately I have been working on getting a ton of stuff painted, and it is all coming along pretty well. I have decided that once I get a few more units done I will reward myself by making a squad of Slaanesh themed IG I have been wanting to make.

I decided yesterday to hit the internet and look for some examples. Sadly I came up with very little on the subject of modeling them. I have planned a paint scheme (somewhat) but need to plan the construction of them (parts, conversions, GS things to make).

I need your help dakka! What are your ideas on how to make these guys?


Ideas so far:
>Easy on the boobs
>Material wealth
>Pride in gear/keeping it maintained
>Rich colors
>Multiple arms
>Deadly blades
>More mutation as command structure progresses
>Guard/Daemonette kit bash (would the Daemonettes be sort of small?)

Well, in hopes of avoiding the 'LOL boobies' approach to well.. anything slaanesh, take in to concideration that cults of slaanesh also attract to the material decedance, and oppulance. Where as the Blood Pact would look run down, rusted gear, ill maintained.. I could see Slaanesh guardsmen taking much higher care of their increasingly ornate gear. Rich, vibrant colors. Mutation wise.. well Slaanesh seems to favor the multipul arms, lithe deadly blades, etc.

A bit of kitbashing with the Daemonettes plastics could work well, depending on how much work you're willing to put into it. Gradually blending in more and more lithe and daemonic elements as you go up the command structure would look good, I feel.

Otherwise, I think what stratassj said is the way to go. Decadence, opulence and pride. These are the ways of Slaanesh.

Thank you for your reply as well. I really like the idea of more mutation as you get higher in the chain of command. Just a concern on the daemonettes, would they be too small to kit bash with IG?

There's a guide on the GW website that shows a lot of leather and fur on Slaaneshi troops. Even has a little guide on greenstuffing each although it's for Marines.

Here's the Leather one and here's the fur one.

Self flagellation. Slanneshi are kinda kinky that way sometimes. Adding in some Flagellant parts with you Guard bits will likely get the desired effect, if you go for it.

I am stalking this thread too...at first I had no clue how to Slaaneshi guardsmen up for my project, but now I do.

Now I just need Tzeentch ideas.

I had no idea either, so I asked and have so far gotten great ideas. Hopefully they help others.

Seriously though, you might consider whips fo CC or sub chain swords for like scemitars or somthing, maybe use some the DE heads with the crazy hair.

I like this because I have a lot old DE bitz somewhere around my house.

do you want a serious bend or a bit of humor behind it? you could probably roll with some guys in well maintained coats, and tophats. Las-lock rifles and all, or do a hussar theme, riding on slaanesh cav

what about the general colour scheme? are you doing the pink/purple? i would consider very pale skin, like meth head style.

That is an interesting idea. Any source you know of for minis of that sort that would work for IG?

Dominant = Black
Secondary = Dark Purple
Certain Details = Pink

How about this for a commissar?

I was thinking you'd have to convert it. It would be relatively simple. Alternate would be any 25mm napoleonic area miniature, trouble is..... GW won't let it on the table. If your friends are fine with it, and your FLGS, and indie tournaments, all's well, but a GW tourney will see you sacked. I know a lot of people have a seething hate for vostroyans, so that leaves the mordian iron guard as a base, and just use GS to make the frogging. (relatively easy, just two thin ropes of GS twisted the right number of times.

I am trying not to play at GW anymore anyways so I could care less if the wouldnt allow them. They are plastic too, as opposed to metal so I could do conversions.

These are grenadiers; If you want to do the fancyboy route i suggested, then yes, these will work.

I just realized that it would be difficult to find hussars on foot because they are cavalry.... that was really dumb on my part.

I disagree. Slaanesh is about perfection and excess, not just about hedonism. Back in the day, at least, GW made it more clear that all the chaos gods had both good and bad aspects, and I love that some people are still working with that. I don't really have any ideas to add, sadly, but I'll be interested to see where these go, OP.

High elf archers legs make great robes for cultists. Also pretty cheap. Also there are historical kits, like WGF celts, that have mostly bare chests. That's a great base to add cool looking helmets, accessories, weapons of choice etc.
