Here goes:

Grey basecoat. Let dry.

Darker grey squiggly lines all over, varying thickness but going in the same general direction. Leave a fair amount of grey showing. Use thin paint but not A wash. Let Dry.

Clear Gloss coat.

Lighter grey (lighter than the basecoat) squiggly lines all over, leave a fair amount of grey showing. Use thin paint but not A wash. Let dry.

Clear Gloss coat. Done.

This was done on Eldar Jetbikes, looks amazing

Directions are partway down the page:

"Basically to achieve the effect you do the following;

1. Base-coat the model in the desired color, in this case gold. Let the paint dry.
1b. If you are not using a gloss based paint, then add a gloss coat to the surface. This technique really works well with a "slippery" foundation. If your base paint is a glass based paint proceed to step 2.

2. Apply your darker marble color... in this case I chose black, but nay color is cool, as long as it is the darker, alternatively you could put down a lighter color if your top color is going to be darker.
2b. If your paint is not glass based then add a glossy clear coat.

3. Apply your marble color, in this case I choose Vallejo Medium Blue.

4. QUICKLY before the paint can dry, take an appropriate size piece of plastic wrap and put it on the paint and proceed to "Scrunch" it up.

5. Remove plastic wrap and let dry.

6. When paint is dry, pick out details and add in marble veins.

7. Follow up with a nice clear coat!

Ashton"

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

Apart from following the tutorials, you could always try and grab a piece of marble from somewhere and stare at its levels, etc.

Also.. (man I feel like I'm suggesting this on every thread) you could do the marble layers with one of the heavy gels on this page: http://www.goldenpaints.com/products/medsadds/gels/gels.php.

And yeah! Make sure you use the colours YOU want. Not all marble is grey
