What the title says. What faction/group of miniatures is your favorite in 40k?

None of the standard miniatures appeal to me that much, so I usually heavily modify them. My favorite look is Dark Mechanicus style, similar to these:
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Chaos/CHAOS_RENEGADES?filter_reset=1

I just think that every miniature on that page is just so cool grim dark not in a "moar skullz" way. My daemon army reflects this.

So dakka, what is your favorite look in 40k?

Love the older style Nurgle daemons and plague marines but mostly the art, the actual models are all pretty horrible at present.

Love orks when the "scrap" aspect is played up (like the Forge World ork tanks, etc.)

Beyond that my favorite aspect of the 40K look is the Ecclesiarchy with all the robes, purity seals, books, etc.

Forgot to mention the "scrap" orks, love those too, especially when they have terrain to go with it; terrain really makes an army have that "theme".

I enjoy chaos marines, especially khorne berzerkers and chaos terminators.
I like the Berzerkers mostly because I think red and bronze look good together, and their ornate armor and weapons are fun to paint and model.

I like the terminators for similar reasons. the trophy racks, and complexly detailed armor is awesome to me.

They seem so much more interesting and powerful than the loyalest counterparts.

A well thought out closing remark.

Necrons. Without a doubt, necrons. Not a single look about them I don't like.

I love the Eldar. Everything is so sleek and designed for the singular purpose of war. Beautiful, elegant and deadly.

Eldar. The Jes Goodwin designs.

Flowing curves, artifice in warfare.

Even with his DE, lethality as art.

Dirty, gritty, dark. Cultists, Hive Scum, Traitor Guard, Plague Marines, etc. The Grimdark is an absolutely horrible place. I like my armies to reflect that.

-I have a specific taste in orks. No hair, no cartoonish conversions, no deffskulls and use bright colours sparingly/never.
-Actually I prefer dark, dirty colours in all armies. I find it more realistic than bright ones. When I was growing up, I despised the Imperial Fists for being yellow.
-Khorne is my favourite chaos god. He and Nurgle have the best daemons. The others just look silly.

So for me, I like Death Korps, Black Templars, Black Legion, Biel-Tan, Goffs, Kraken, Black Heart and any Tau that aren't bright.

I also forgot to say in my other post that I don't like halved or quartered SM colour schemes too much.

Death Korps of Krieg. Like a previous poster said about cultists and the like, they nail the horrific, uninviting brutality of grimdark without just being some skull-covered army. DKoK fighting Chaos Renegades in the Vraks campaign stuff from Forge World is the best stuff for me.

The mysterious heavily robed look, protected against the elements and just a teensy bit more protection against your enemies. Robes of the Dark Angels, Tabbards of the Black Templars, and Greatcoats of the Death Korps. I do find myself drawn to the high tech sleek look in the Tau and Eldar as well.

I absolutely adore Dark Eldar, Khorne and Tzeentch for different reasons of course
Dark Eldar for the deathly sleek design and pretty evil fluff
Khorne for the Bezerkers the crazy but still slightly honourful marines Even though Pre-Heresy World Eaters are an all time favourite.
Tzeentch, well Chaos, Magic and plain crazy, this guy is chaos incorporated, what's not to like? Oh and i love Thousand sons aswell

But i generally prefer Pre-Heresy Marine style i find it beautifull, with the older marks armour and all the beautiful accessories.

My favorite aspect of 40k is the dark, grim and gothic empire: The inquisition, the grey knights, the space marines (esp. Dark Anges, Black Templars, Ultramarines or Iron Hands), the rogue traders, the ecclesiarchy and so on. I love the style of John Blanche in this way.

Really like the Tau. I always loved their battlesuits and tanks.
Less keen on stuff like the ethereals, FWs etc.

The Mechanicus, especially the art by John Blanche, when this is effectively made into a mini it is incredible.

Also chaos renegades such as the forgeworld models or the art from the LatD army list.

Definetly DKOK. I have a very dark, realistic colour scheme for them. I like the idea of dark trenchcoats and bright red aquilas.
I'm even builidng a Trench board for my army.

I also like Deathwatch marines for the same reason...

Sweet Jesus, Nurgle and Slaanesh in the same box!?
No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

I love rust or tarnished brass. Dark cyborgs are fun, a bit like the warmachine Cryx mcthralls. I had an army idea that involved renegade guard using necron parts for limbs, to represent Chrono-gladiators. I've always wanted to paint this fella'.

It might seem obvious but for me it's the modern Ork aesthetic as established in Gorkamorka. No two vehicles identical, lots of empty brass, huge ammo belts of varying calibres; organised chaos.

That said I also enjoy DKoK and the flowing beauty of Eldar vehicles. Elegant weapons for a more civilised age!
