I'm new to WHFB, here are some rules I want to clarify.

1. If a enemy unit fails a charge on my range unit(flamers) who declared stand and shoot, does the shooting from my flamers still go off?

2. Army Organization: In the DoC book, it says that a 2000+ pt Army can have 0-2 Rare units and max 4 heroes. In the BRB, it says upto 25% for Heroes and Rares and no more than 2 duplicates of rare. So which one do I follow or both? I feel that I can take more than 4 heroes as long as the pts are under 25%.

3. Frontal arc or charge arc or whatever you call it.... cant find the description in the rule book. So a block of unit can charge anything in front or within 45 degrees to the side of it?

4. Warmachine LOS: A "stone thrower" is placed behind a block of friendly unit(warriors), can it have LOS to my unit(bloodletters) that is 7" in front of the warriors for it to fire directly? Or a "cannon" has limited LOS on my block of unit at an angle but if it fires, the straight line touches one of his own unit, so is it legal for it to fire? The reason I'm asking is in 40k players can bubble wrap their precious tanks with infantry and let the tank shoot over their infantry.

1) Yes, as specified in the S&S rules it, like ALL reactions, occurs immediately. There is even a box out on what to do if you are out of range
2) Read your FAQ, which tells you to ignore the army book.

3) Yep, take a 45 degree arc off each edge of the unit, any unit that lies within that charge arc is a viable target for charge declarations

4) True LOS. LOook from the LOS part (cross piece on a stone thrower, from memory) you are told to in the ruels for warmachines, and if you can see the enemy unit you can see the enemy unit.

1 yes the enemy is considered to come into your range so
you stand and shoot as normal ( like a terror test t
happens ofthe charge is successful or failed).

2 ignore the restricstions like that go with the brb everythig is in % now but you can only have 3 duplicate specials and 2 duplicate rares under 3k. Bottom of page 135 in the mini rule book has all the info on that.

3 look at page 5 in the mini rule or look up unit facig in the index if you have he big book. Best way to determine those if you don't have any fancy gaming aids run a tape measure diagonally across the models base (corner to corner) and that's your front anything in that that yu are in range of you can charge shoot etc.

Overview of the WoC army book.

@ #4... That would suck, so a skaven army can just bubble wrap 2 warp lightning cannons with slaves and sit there and blast at you all day. Armies without flying warmachine hunters, how will they ever take them out? They could just put a unit to the front or side of the warmachine to intercept any dangerous foes.

Slaves are so easy to kill, just about anything can tie them up, letting other units to sweep in behind and hit the cannons.
Skaven, in range of the general, are tough to break.
Skaven, out of the generals leadership, break and run.

It's tough for skaven to cover their whole front and hold.

I've found that a good number of skaven warmachines have a small habit of blowing themselves up. At least they have when my friends have used skaven.
