Hi, intrigued by the new games workshop megaforces! As mainly a blood angels player, i was wondering if people know, if there will be other megaforces, for other armys? Cause i want a ba one! Also am a fairly relaxed player, quite new player, i wanna know what people think about theese 'megaforces'?

Nope, it's mainly a Christmas thing, will likely get discontinued after. It's the two biggest sellers for each game, made into a big ass box to get the greatest number of overall sales.

DE and SM sold really damn well this year.

The space marine is the closest thing your gonna ever get to BA. Pick it up if you want more than 75% of the mini's in the box. It is a fantastic deal.

Thats what i dreaded, i like the space marine one, but it is not that suited for a ba player, where are the assualt squads and furthermore you cannot use the landpeeder storm or the venerable dreadnouhgt! oh well i still have some miraculous hope they will release a ba one!

I think a few of my friends are going to chip in and split it up. I'm a BA player and I need scouts, the dread, and a drop pod. My friend needs the land raider, and another likes the speeders.... So it works fairly well.

You can use the dreadnaught, just a small bit of converting can make just about any type of dread you want it to be. As for the land speeder, yeah your SOL on that.

i guess i could, but i'm not going to bother buying one! How sad just a battleforce for christmas then... why gw, why! you've crushed my hopes, just like with dreadfleet ( there never going to do any add ons or anything else with it!). oh well enough said!

Wait... if both SM and DE sold the best this year, why would GW make Megaforces for them? Why wouldn't they want to get their other armies out there?

If SM's sold the most, anyone who would want SM's would already have them, and the megaforce would be overkill.

you're not thinking like GW.... if it sells well, people will want more of it. (hence why there are so many fething marines).

that kind of surprises me actually. I mean obviously SM is the best selling army given that there's like 84539468743 chapters, but I would have thought that IG or Orks would be next in line, not DE.

Not to say that DE didnt sell well or is a bad army, im just surprised is all.

The manager in my local shop said no others are coming out to his knowledge. Apparently the last time they did bundles they did one for most of the armies and lots of them did not sell well and sat around for ages gathering dust.

This is true. That's how they've been doing the MegaForces. Very short production/sales runs.

I'd need a reference or citation. I don't believe that is true at all. I grant you that the Space Marines were the biggest over-all sellers (they always are and always will be), but I doubt DE was #2. Grey Knights probably crushed DE on sales. I'm not sure why DE was picked. Perhaps to spur on sales of a Xenos race? But to say it was the #2 seller and that's why it got a Megaforce is pure speculation.

DE are coming out since their sale rose so much. Granted its easy to raise them from 0 but the new codex has gotten them out there more than ever and other people like their new models. It doesn't surprise me compared to orks or IG since you have to spend alot of money to get those armies going. I am surprised that they put two wych squads in and only one warrior. Had they been reveresd I probably would be getting one.

Get it and another warrior squad and problem solved? It looks like a great deal for DE but I am not looking to start another army on top of building up my necron army.

In short we can expect no other Megaforces to be around this year except the ones out right now. We may see a Necron one next year (guessing here).

Shame though, the Ork Megaforce was a steal before it got pulled off the shelves.

Are you kidding? GK outselling the DE? You realize that there are TONS of players out there who already had plenty of minis ready for use with GK, right? As opposed to the DE model line, where the vast majority of players that were already collecting them basically restarted their collections from scratch...

I have about 6600 points in necrons, and depending what would come in a megaforce with necrons... I'd consider buying it lol

Of course they never do IG, damn marketing.

Proabably not until next year. The space marine one is absolutely fantastic, but the dark eldar one is a piece of gak, IMO. They should've put more thought into the kits they included. Who the heck uses nine reavers for anything but a display?

The Space Marine one is amazing. I'm almost considering getting it although I already have all the models, I guess I can make a new chapter !

I really hope they do this with IG, I'm going to hold out before starting them in hope that they get a megaforce next year.

DE are the #2 sellers? I would think Eldar or Orks would be the highest-selling Xenos.

The 113-piece Skaven Mega Force is what impressed me the most probably, has tempted me to go into fantasy.
