Hi I'm trying to figure out what is better the stormraven gunship or the vindicator. The ordnance 1 blast template and 10 str 2 ap is great for the vindicator. I'm not sure though if the possible 24 bolter rounds with a typhoon missile launcher and plasma cannon plus transport is better than that nearly 100% guaranteed kill so can someone help me with this problem.

Possible 12 bolter rounds. It's 6 twin-linked bolters, so 12 shots at close range.

They cannot be compared at all. The vindicator is a beat stick used to wreck stuff. The Storm Raven is an assault transport first, gun platform second.

This. They're not really comparable. Although they're both fire-magnets, so there's that.

Yah man, you cant really compare these two units. Which is better really matters to your list...

A Land raider and a stormraven could be compared alone, but a stormraven and vindicator no.

Also looks like your comparing a 145 point vindicator to a 230 point storm raven.

Unsurprisingly, I'd say the 230 point thing is better than the 145 point thing.
But what 85 points are you cutting to go from vindicator to storm raven?

If you aren't using Storm Raven to transport assault unit, then no. SR is nice but a S10AP2 pie plate is better. Also front AV 13.

i would go with the storm raven over the vidicator, but, that is just due to the fact i play IG. when i see that storm raven, the hydra shoots at it, and everything else, till it falls. It isnt that hard to reach a vidicator with any ranged weapons, and easy to keep my forces out of range of one also.

as others said; depends solely on your list and the role the model will play.

I am always so much happier when people field those flying square boxes and with maniacal glee I watch them explode in itty bitty peices!

Jesting aside it depends on the army being listed however Vindicators can use cover oh so much better than those flying metal boxes.

This really depends on your list. Are you doing some kind of BA vehicle spam?
