Ok the little turd of a dog I am looking after for my aunt just tore open a bottle of mordian blue and has spread it all over the carpet (aswell as himself but feth him) is there any way I can get it out? The paint has still not dried but at this point I am about to dose the carpet in simply green becasue I rent and this will cost me my bond.

Water I should think. GW paints are water based acrylics, I believe so I would get a damp cloth and a bowl of water and keep scrubbing until you have lifted the paint out of the weave.

Once it sets it will be permanent. Acrylic is a nasty thing on threads of any sort like carpet or clothing.

You need to get at it before it starts to dry, then try to blot it out.

I take it the carpet is a renter's beige?

I can tell you how to get red wine out of that carpet (did it more than once while renting) but never had to remove paint from it.

I was hoping the answer was going to be the blood of a small rat like dog. Ive gotten most of it out by keeping it wet and scrubbing it, I have been at it for 30 mins now and its still not all gone

Keep at it then.
Elbow grease and some detergent is about as good as it gets.

Blood is even harder to get out of carpet than paint.

Even small rat-like animal blood.

You could of course buy or mix up some paint the colour of the carpet.

Though Methylated spirits is a good way to remove paint as it wont melt the carpet like it will plastic models. Apply with a cotton ball or similar, dry and repeat until paint is hopefully gone.

Same thing happened to me with Ultramarines blue. Scrubbed most of it up with water then a standard carpet stain remover finished it off.

Cellulose thinner gets dried paint out. You then need to clean the horrible smelly thinner out with detergent tho.

Go to any paint store, and they can sell you paint removers or some sort of stain remover. You pour it on, let it sit and then go over with soap water and a good scrubbing.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

I don't know how it is down under, but up in the States you can rent carpet steam cleaners from the big box hardware stores. Probably cost ya a good $40-60 US for the day, plus the cost of the carpet shampoo. But if you want to get it out, that's probably your best hope. Not sure if your depeosit is worth that, but we used one on my ladyfriend's last apartment before she moved out of it. Got everything out, even the huge kool-aid spill next to her computer completely came out.

Just keep scrubbing, it'll be much harder to shift once dried.

if you kill the dog, she won't notice the blue stain...

But, to avoid any more issues with your carpet, may I suggest doing the deed in the bathroom, or some other tiled surface? Perhaps the bathtub or sink...

Dawn Dish detergent (or alike), scrub like a son-of-a-&#^@*.

Good luck.

This is ymmv, but when I dropped a pot of Baal red wash on my beige carpet, hydrogen peroxide got it out quite easily. If it removes blood from clothes, why not paint from carpet? At this point no one could tell I spilled red wash on that spot in the carpet.

Quite, alternatively you could paint the rest of the carpet blue.

Make sure you are keeping a tally of what all this is costing you and present the bill to your aunt when she comes to collect the dog.

Just mind it doesn't melt your carpet!

Incidentally since someone brought it up, the best way I know of removing dried blood is the saliva of the person whose blood it is.

Each persons saliva will in effect liquidity their own dried blood, then once you have done this a normal wash should shift it. Mmmmm tasty!

Very good point that! Try it on a hidden area first
