Recently unleashed upon the enemies of the Retribution, House Vyre’s myrmidons were developed with distinct capabilities all their own. The Banshee emits a high-pitched wail that prevents enemy spellcasters from using their magic, while its shrieking cannon hurls enemies aside with raw sonic power. A powerful assault myrmidon, the Daemon smashes foes with its rune fists or blasts them with concentrated arcane energy from its vortex cannon. The Sphinx rends its enemies with twin force claws or uses its runespear cannon to shatter an enemy’s mystical defenses, making it more vulnerable to magical attacks.

This box set contains three color stat cards and one multi-part heavy myrmidon plastic model (PIP 35034). Included are all the components to assemble one of three heavy myrmidon variants: Banshee, Daemon, or Sphinx. A player may field any number of these heavy myrmidons in a Retribution of Scyrah army.

Ummm - I don't play, but I do like some of their stuff. These look really bad to me. They sort of lost what was good about their other jacks and didn't replace it with anything. Minimal detail, funny proportions, just all around awkward.

Meh, I don't like Scyrah or their 'jacks. Simply not characterful enough.

The stark white paint job on the studio models, I think, only exacerbates this problem. The white is so flat with little to no shading or other treatment that it almost looks as if it has simply been primered and a few highlights picked out. This studio paint scheme has got to be one of the worst design decisions for this whole line (of which there are many.)

Agreed, the studio paint job could use a good dipping or something to add shading to the model.

I plan to cut it and make it more like a dagger myself. Which should solve the issue i think.

Any date on these guys? I can't wait to finally get some more Jacks.

March seems so far away from right now and I want these jacks RIGHT NOW.

I suppose this will give me an excuse to pick up the ASL rulebook/Beyond Valor (and learn how to play it).

I'd agree with both of the above. While variation is nice, and I'm sure it added some new fans, PP far from nailed a new look.

I've been a fan of PP since they started, but almost* everything they've done since the Ret came out and the reboot of the game seems either a rehash (i.e. winterguard got new guns! or force books (now with less character and more rules descriptions!)) or uninspired (i.e. ret as a whole) or rushed (i.e. most of the theme lists) or all of the above (i.e. merc warjacks).

While there were serious balance issues, and many other problems with mkI, the feel and practice of the company and seemed much nicer than they are now. **

* I won't say everything, because I don't want to make a blanket statement, and I'm sure there was something cool.***

** Based on no specific fact, but that's why it's stated as opinion.

** There, I thought of something: most of the Minions releases have been pretty cool, and I loved Bad Seeds (probably the most fun thing to come out of mkII other than making jacks more viable).

I'm not too familiar nor that much of a fan of the warmachine look in general (although the man o war suits are awesome looking as well as some of the infantry!) but they've always had a distinct look that felt internally consistent from my outsider looking in POV. These models don't really jive with that.

That is my major issue with the Retribution - even though I know it is a deliberate design decision, the majority of the figures look like they should be in a completely different game to the other ten ranges...

I really like all the ret jacks, its art style is just very different than I'm used to, but that doesn't make it worse. The lack of grit or shading really just says elven to me, or even alien. Its interesting. The design rather than make my eyes flow, makes them slant to the left which is a unique feeling. I think people are mainly just afraid of new things and maybe they will grow on more people.

These elf guys seem a little .... off.

What are those Mechs made out of by the storyline? Seeing as the other ones are cast iron frieght trains, How do these stand up to being pounded on?

As with others opinion, that paint job seems a bit lazy, but the models are not too bad.

Kinda remind me of some sort of liquid metal, or one of those Anime Evangelon guys.

The elves are the more scifi-ish faction of the Iron Kingdoms. I don't recall off hand what their jacks are made of, but the older Sheeyl designs have less armor, but special for e fields to add health boxes to them. These new Vyre jacks lack the field and have heavier armor. Also Ret jacks do not run on steam power, but I believe raw magic.

I personally don't quite like the looks of their jacks, though these new ones are an improvement over the old.

All of the people at my FLGS refer to them as the iJacks when I play my Retribution.

I for one have grown to like the aesthetic of the Retribution myrmidons. I will be picking up this new kit for sure.

I personally think the Ret jacks benefit from a dark colour scheme so well. Part of the problem with the studio models is the colour scheme making them seem washed out and they're lacking in spot colours making the situation a bit worse. Mine are painted dark green with bits of black colour blocking (because they totally don't look like the Green Lantern corps They go well with my Iron Man Tau) and I get no end of comments of "so it was the colour scheme, I like the Ret jacks now..."

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Never was a fan of the Ret stuff. The artwork always made them look a lot better than they really were. The characters are probably the worse examples of this.

And that paint job ain't helping. That one with the big sword... it's sword looks like a toy sword off an action figure.
