It's not reliable, but I saw a Chaos Sorcerer force weapon one off a couple of times.

Obliterators (a group of 3) do very well against trygons, they can use lascannons at long range and then plasmaguns to take off all their wounds before they can get into combat.

I've had fun with Trygons and my CSM.
I've lashed it, turnt it into spawns, insta gibbed with Force weapons, Abbadoned it to death, Oblit it and even had a Greater Daemon tear it a new one.
It's normally best to drown it in heavy fire power, such as Oblits or Havocs. My friend swears on his TS unit to tar pit them, but I generally keep such a mobile CSM force that when one does leer near my lines, I can sacrifice a squad if need be to keep it busy

Quad ML havocs. Each shot has a 5/9th chance of dropping a wound on a TMC per turn with a very long range. Problem is the havocs are vulnerable in CC so they need a unit of oblits to stay nearby and babysit them, but given how much the chaos community loves oblits the problem isn't much of a problem.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

I had a lot of fun laying waste to an army mostly comprised of those suckers using two lots of 4x AC havocs sat on top of a couple of buildings.

That's a pretty terrible Nid list tbh. If the zoeys don't pod in, they'll take forever to get in range to Lance you, and other than that his only AT is the monstrous creatures in the list.

Hey, Trygon. I know you like killing things, but have you ever tried killing anything on COCAINE!?!?!

Gifts is probably the closest thing to the single thing that got me to start CSM. I keep on brushing it out of my mind, because it's so silly and often so terrible and useless...

How'd you get daemonettes into the list? Do you summon them like normal lesser daemons, or do they deploy as normal units?
If you have combi- plas on the terminators, they should have a good shot at dropping on in a single rapid fired burst.

I'm assuming his friend is letting him field LSD's as daemonettes from the daemons codex- and I think his friend is very ing generous. They lose their MEQ profile for a GEQ one with more attacks, rending, higher I and fleet- and considering the daemons codex doesn't let you DS and assault, but the CSM one does, I think its worth the 15p instead of 14 in the daemons codex.
Also, as mentioned DS'ing combiplasma's can drop MC's ridiculously quickly. Even catching a MC out of cover with plasma can do alot of damage- I rolled up a hive tyrant in one round of shooting from a squad of GH with 2 plasmas. Admittedly, it was good rolling as all shots hit and wounded, but the odds are good to do damage- 3+ to hit, 3+ to wound, no saves buddy
