Or should I do what the other companies do, just show you the finished product and link to the store?

I would like that we have ourselves a new function where we can put all of the basement sites that guys like ed are doing thier work, thier companies, and general info about how to get to these sites in thier own area.

Seriously, you have alot of top notch stuff going on here, and sometimes it gets caught up in the conversations in this News $ Rumors area.

We need for Dakka to have a posting area here for WIP's, and basement companies like Trollforge, Hasslefree, and the others for the linkings of these products for people to actuallty go to an area and look at, without the distractions of News and Rumors threads in between the serious discussions of WIP's, Ideas on what to put in there and products to work on.

There are plenty of examples, from the dscussion about the basic kits, from MDG, to these great works in progress, to the Ultraforge stuff, to the Hasslefree, Wargames factory, etc,etc,etc.


Bottom line? Continue to post the WIP's, because I for one am seriously Jonesing for some of those Heavy Infantry guys, and I am really interested in that alien thing.
BUT...
Dakka needs a area specificly for WIP's, new companies, and discussions of the works. I don't feel that they belong in News and Rumors, partly because they are halfway advertisement, partly because they are WIP's, so they could easily change at any time. All these companies in one area would make it easier for us to look at, compair, and get hold of these companies, as well.

Kinda like an in-between painting modeling guide, partly a peer review, partly a discussion/ gathering area for the modeler- basement sculpter to get together and come up with stuff.

As for you, I think you need a seperate account to divide your own personal discussions from the Troll forged discussions, to both distance your own interests, and to keep your discussions on a professional relationship.
When one sees your name on there, they see you update about Troll forged as this thred does, it sends a mixed message.

Just my opinion, but keep up the updates. I want to know when those heavy guys and alien are ready to go.

I want at least one of those aliens, and a platoon of those other guys.

The alien and the trenchers are in the current batch meaning they'll likely be released around mid january. the Mercenaries will be in the batch after that so their release will more likely be march or april (depending on the size of the next batch of molds)

i quick idea, would you do a SHS (separate head system) for some of your miniatures?

I know that everything that Icesword has worked in since the trenchers has been multi-part and much of the work doghouse and i have planned is too, especially the infantry. the ideas is we're trying to make a massive selection of interchangeable sets. eventually we're hoping that people can mix 'n' match sets of components to buy squads, platoons and even whole armies of custom infantry. within a few years there will be literally millions of potential combinations

then have you thought of releasing your own rpg? or are you only producing for others to use your miniatures on other games

We have been working on some gamesystems and fluff settings.

One of these gamesystems is Warspike which is still very much a work in progress, we could always use more help with that, so join our forums and join in the discussions!

A fluff setting we are working on is Sciror, that too can be further discussed on our forum!

This way we could have both. In the past I used to make some separate threads for TFM releases, but the mods weren't too happy with that and wanted me to do a single "general TFM" thread, which is this thread.

I'll start editing the first post once the new batch of models are finished and released, so hopefully in a couple of weeks!

@Ghostly:
-At the moment we don't have any other kits which are that customizable, but in the future we hope to do something similar for our infantry kits. Icesword and Doghouse have been working on a whole bunch of infantry kits (some of which have been posted in this thread).
-The only size comparison shot I can offer you at this time is one of the Sun God next to a Saurus and a Skink which you can find here (model painted by N810).

Also put pictures in the gallery so people see them that way.

I second KK's notion. This thread is up to 15 pages now, and there's a lot to wade through. I can understand why the mods might want to see everything pulled together in a single thread, but let's face it, this has become very long, unwieldy and hard to navigate.

I'd like to see a separate thread for each WIP, updated when necessary, and ended when the product goes into production.

Perhaps you could have your own gallery, with a link to the store posted there.

I hope someone's New Year's Resolutions include getting that post-apocalyptic girl released finally!

ed is working hard right now. apparently once he is done mid to late january 50 or so new models will be popping up.

I did that in the past, but the mods weren't too happy with that and suggested that I started a single thread for all of the TFM stuff. Maybe I'll do something along the lines of a monthly thread, I've seen some people do a similar thing for the Infinity releases.

More responses from me will come later today or tomorrow, I just got back from Italy and really need to unpack my gear!

How is that such a pain though? That always worked for me, to have some sort of summary on the first post.

More an annoyance, I guess, really.
It's nice to hit the "newest post" link and see what's new.

I (usually LOL) like reading what other people have to say about the models. If your update is in the first post, but everyone's comments are at the end, then it can be a pain. Either we look at all of the comments first, then go back to see the images, or look at the images then go look for where the comments on the newest stuff start. Since the "newest post" link will be dead once we visit the FIRST post, we don't have a bookmark to the newest posts.

Maybe it's just me. FWIW, I like the way you're doing it now (updating the title only).

Maybe you could update the OP with pictures of finished, available models so people can get a quick check on whats out for purchase without having to go through the whole thread?

I doubt the guy will be changed that much, his head and hands kind (will) look mutated already, but since it looks more subtle, its easily convertable into normal skin.

Hi, yeah sorry about that, I had a lot happening over here and it really slowed me up.

She is on her way over to Ed at Troll forged (fed-ex) and will join the casting queue.

Unfortunately I rushed the second one and as a result completely screwed up the sculpt (which got binned), I am currently working on a possible sculpt for Avatars or War (I say possible, as it will only be cast if the finished piece meets approval with Felix and the general public).

After that I have some private commission pieces to work on and so will not be able to start the next Post Apoc girl until March at the earliest.

Hope that helps clear a few things up.

I was joking when I wrote that, but I know humor doesn't always translate well on the internet.

Still, glad to here that she'll be available soon, and that you're working on others in that range too!

They will come in sprues of five. The plan is to have at least 2 different facial expressions per head. There will be at least 15+ different options to being with!
