Gits, the battleship is normally a metal model. However I can't imagine putting such an anvil on top of those tiny fragile plastic rods. Plus I don't like how that ship looks. So I basically cut and glued 2 ships together, to have a bigger yet very light (thank you plastic, you're fantastic) battleship.

Shiny awesomeness I like how the purple is used on the bases in a subtle way.

What are the names of the other ships?

@ Flashman : people generally love these bases, or hate them. ^^

@ Whalemusic360 : that's a suitable question. The name of my other ships are :
- gothic class : Prometheus
- lunar class : Nostalgia for Infinity
- dominator class : Ender
- mars class : Nostromo

My escorts squadrons are named Sidewinders, Darksiders and Purgatoy.

I don't look for a specific origin or type for the names, the common point is only that they all are a reference to a book/movie/CD that I like and that fits the spaceships theme.

A few culture related related names:

- Pitch Black (movie of same name)
- Space Ship Zebra (Ice station Zebra)
- Astral Sovereign (Sovereign from ME)
- Bright Empire (Elric novels)
- Light of Tanelorn (Tanelorn from Michael Moorcock)
- Blade of the Orb (Orb of Aldur from David Eddings)

Those lootas look exactly like some on for sale on ebay.

Hi all !

I play a tournament next week where painting note will be decisive, so I have made some little improvements to my army.
Hope the judges will like my minis, and hope my army will fight with honor on the battlefields.

Its a team tournament, with 2 Vs 2 games, 1000pts per player. And this is what my opponents will face :

Really nice. Have you considered redoing the base rims in a grey? (since the rest of your painting is so good I have nothing else to comment on! ).

I'll keep the bases rims black, I tried several colors and I definitely prefer to have them black. I like when the rim has a different color from the top, and black has a sober finish.


For the upcoming tournament, I needed 3 objective markers on 40mm base. Of course, I had none since mine are on 25mm ones. So I made this :

It's an antenna-communication-anything.
No idea what this is supposed to be, to be honest. I think it comes from the Imperial Bastion sprue. It looks good so I wanted to paint it.

Well, tournament was last week-end, and... I lost all my battles.
But the good news is that the judges liked my army, and I got a prize for painting ! (not the first prize, uh !)

It was a team tournament (4 players per team) with 2Vs2 games. Here's a photo of my last battle, with my eldar allies :




And today, I started painting my second zombicide abomination :

Haha, it's a friend of mine who won the "best army" prize.
And yes, it was a very good day. Although we lost every game we played, we enjoyed pushing our armies on the tables and launching dices all day long.

The prize for having one of the best painted armies was a surprise, and I'm pretty happy I got it !

I played a First Compagny list yesterday so this made me want to paint him.

Awesomesauce of many varieties! It all looks great, very interested to see where you go with Candice. The BFG stuff in particular just blows me away. I will definitely have to get round to playing that system some time.
