Subject: White Scars 3rd Brotherhood! Great tournament and weekend...
TauForTheWin(ish) wrote: I recognise that white scars list from Throne of Skulls. It kicked my butt in round three :-D
Haha, brilliant Andy. Best game......"so I'm gonna shoot this building. Oh, I got a penatrating hit, what happens now?" "Not sure but im going for a piss whilst you check"
As for games, im having an apoc game in June and am going to play with my Dark Eldar and Eldar for a few weeks as a change. Still going to get the Scars finished but also going to put some focus on my Nurgle guys.
Chapter master on bike with power lance and shield eternal.
Librarian lvl 2 on foot.
Command squad with champion, banner, 3 plasma guns and a razorback with twin-linked assault cannon.
Bike squad (4 bikes and an attack bike) 2 grav guns and AB multi-melta
Bike squad (4 bikes and an attack bike) 2 meltaguns and AB multi-melta
tactical squad with plasma gun and rocket launcher with flakk
scout squad with sniper rifles and heavy bolter with hellfire shells (a great stealth wepon there )
scout squad with shotguns and power fist wielding sergeant
Stormtalon with skyhammer missile launcher.
I am a really slow painter and I basically ran just about everything I have. It's hardly an optimised list but I'm getting more and more out of it (and I keep adding better stuff).
Our game was a blast, and I think me seizing on you was partly to blame for that. It had great moments too, such as my Snipers infiltrating behind enemy lines and sneaking up on a predator and blowing it up in close combat, or the vindicator blowing up my entire command squad in 1 shot (happened again in my last game ) or the librarian on his bike who took shot after shot and just wouldn't go down and of course my chapter master who couldn't find the gas pedal on his bike
It's always fun to see more White Scars armies out there, and even though we were mirror matches we didn't look the same (no sunglasses were needed to look at the table). Your army looked really good on the table, and plenty menacing just deploying and scouting in my face like that.

Hey Vincent, it was a great way to start the weekend. You should put some gallerey photos of your scars on here. The white is amazing as it is quite muted but exceptionally crisp.
Really fun game and as for your chapter master.......well......
Hey guys, a while ago you asked for a line up shot of the air force so here it is.
The cockpits are not stuck and transfers not on everything yet either or weathering. I also have noticed that I need to do the aquillas on the talons as they are only base coated.
I also then did a company shot whilst I had the thunderhawk blu tacked together and I must say I am impressed with the overall look now. Still need to make 2 of the rhinos devs and have to add a libby, 3 scouts and another solitary assault marine but then it's complete.
When I look back to my first post I really get a sense of achievement. I needed this blog to push through so thanks to you guys for getting me this far.
Having a week off from painting this week butwill be back on it next week with the hawk first I reckon.
I have taken a video of the brotherhood so there are better views if anyone wants to see it then its over on youtube. White Scars 3rd Brotherhood, Task force Nomad wip: http://youtu.be/aGnylhE4Neo
C&C welcome as always people. Thanks

I had forgotten that you were putting together the librarians and chaplain. Nice to see the other HQs getting some work. The last few pages have been all vehicles, it’s been hard to remember that there are still some bikes getting painted.
I’m with Zambro on the scroll down through the pics. The first one with the flyers was staggeringly cool, and then you top it with the next two pics.
So its confirmed. If you jink in 7th then you snap fire. Looks like the Scars have lost some of their ability. Although this mskes them a little weaker it is no bad thing. I am only upset that some armies seem to have been fixed but re rolling 2+ chaos armies continue to reign.....
Anyway this is a p&m blog and as such I will not go further with rules.
Not really a scars update but I was 'covinced' to tidy my hobby shelves and storage so after a bit of jigging around that's what I did. As a result there was a big space that needed filling so I just got back from the store with the new rulebook plus a swarmlord, exocrine, hive crone, tervigon plus a few bits for conversions and the new cards.
That will teach her to tell ms to tidy, muhahaha
I got some nids off someone that need adding to so there may be a new blog soon too.
Can I really run 3 projects at once? 4 if you count painting my eldar....
Here are some pics if my shelves. What do your bookshelves look like guys?

Pics aren't showing up. My own shelves are rather chaotic, at the moment I have Ultramarines on the top shelf, the few fatansy/lotr pieces I haven't boxed up (larger/better painted ones mostly), an assortment of WiP projects on another shelf. My display area (read: on top the TV) is currently home to the Fellowship of the Ring, an lG diorama, a Lord Commissar and some random 80s Citadel minis.
That sounds like quite a haul! Looking forward to the Nids. 4 projects? Easy I've currently got ultras, inquisition, Deadzone and death wing on the go, and am looking at starting up Malifaux instead of buying 7th...
On second thoughts, I might be a bad example to follow if you value sanity, space and time...

Haha, I lost my sanity long ago, I have space plus am getting an extension built so even more space and time, well we just make time don't we. Re done pics so should be on now.
Another project...? Any sane person could manage 4 projects, but you sir, are not sane (read: 100+ zombies). The size of the projects you take up are ridiculous, and so is the speed at which you complete them! But seriously, do what makes you happy
My shelves are fairly messy. My top shelf has 5 White Dwarf mags from 2012, 2 out of date codices, 3 in date codices, the OLD big-BRB, an IA book and the new rule books. As well as a bunch of university notes i've dumped there for convenience. Next shelf down has my completed IG, and a sample of my Scars. Bottom shelf has all my in progress IG.
What do you make of the new rulebook? Mine arrived this morning. I've skimmed through all 3 of the books, they look (and smell) great. I like how they've split it into 3 books, so much more convenient

Yeah I love the smell of new books. I prefer the smell of paperback novels but love gloss books too.....maybe I have a problem....lets not start on the smell of burnt matches or starwars figures....
I put all my out of date books and all my old white dwarves into a big box in the loft. Until the hobby room is built and the will have place to be on hand.
You are right, I am insane (I just get wrapped up in ideas) and the nid list needs stripping and repainting, but that fun right?
All my wip stuff is downstairs on my hobby/dinning table and in boxes all around, much messier photo...

I was expecting to see ranks upon ranks of minis on the shelves, not just some extra large things and books. Where do your armies live?
My shelves: (spoilerd as to not fill your thread with my stuff, but you asked)
Spoiler:
Old picture, but it gets the point across. I’ve since cleared a lot of the old books off of one shelf to make room for more minis. All my old WDs and WHFB stuff went across the basement to where I keep all my RPG stuff (more space on that shelf) I like to keep books accessible for when I need to look up some historical point, so nothing is boxed up. Both of the bookcases are freebie hand me downs. When a local bookstore closed their doors they gave the fixtures away for free. My brother in law replaced his, and gave me the nice glass fronted one. The one with my Ultras is one of the shelves he didn’t have space for. The plastic shelf unit dates to my college dorm days. Books are sorted by edition, and all the 6th ed stuff is actually on the bookcase just off to the left of the picture now. When they are not scattered around the basement, next to my recliner, computer, on the 4x8, etc.
My cases, terrain, etc are nominally kept on a shelf under my 4x8, but more accurately live on top of it.
You shouldn’t have any problem with another project. You have a talent for banging out models looking nice by the giant double handful. I envy your speed and efficiency. And the world needs more Nids.
Amazing picture nev. My armies live in another area with a whole host of 'to do' projects. There are currently a reaver, a warhound and 2 knights to name just the big ones. Plus my battle boards, terrain and bits boxes.
I li3je to see how people store/display their stuff. It gives me something to aim to. The shelves have literally got some big pieces on, lord of skulls/bane blade etc whilst the lower one has my son's books and ps3 games for when he comes to stay.

I couldn't resist the temptation of the nids so have started building. Instead oc cganging this blog I have added to my Alien nid blog and will continue there for thise interested.
Thsts 3 blogs now that im running. I'm a man and therefore cannot multi task, what will happen??
Wow, lots of spelling errors above. Apologies, that's what happens when I use my phone I guess.
Anyway for those folowing this blog I am taking a break for 9 days now as I have set a challenge to build and paint 1500pts of tyranids in hive fleet Kraken by next Wednesday.
I may be mad but at least this way I can get back to the Scars. I may do a little here and there on the scars and nurgle but doubt it.
Feel free to follow my crazy adventure on my Alien nid blog.
So I've got another layer of white done on tne thunderhawk and have trimmed a few pieces to add into the engine bay. I have the hunger to get on with this again now and will endeavor to get the ship to a "built" stage and then do a whole exterior white spray before going into tbe engines etc.
May go back to the base at some point this weekend too and will definitely do a video if it. If you want to see more if the hawk then check out my youtube vid (been bitten by the vlog aswell as blog now) and please subscribe and leave a comment so I know where you saw me first.
Hey guys, this post is gonna be on all of my blogs as I think its a more than worthy cause.
A whole community of 40+ painters are putting together the 4th company ultramarines and raffling it off for the help for heroes charity so please taka a look at the link and buy some tickets. Over £7000 was raised last year for a salamanders army that 1 lucky winner got so who know it could be you this time.
I am building and painting a tactical squad and rhino for it and will run a blog to track progress. I'm not sure if I will do it as part of my scars blog or a seperate one but will also be running a youtube vlog to help promote the cause.
I'm not normally one for begging or pushing on people but believe this is worth it. Let me know your thoughts or keep me posted as you get tickets and I'll feed it all back to Nick (IDIC BEER) who is running this amazing project.
