Just this morning I received my order from puppets war, but on the blister for their Soviet Grey Astronauts heads it read 'copyright Games Workshop Ltd'. Would anyone have an explanation for this? I couldn't find any mention on their sight that they were a subsidiary of GW.

Well, they certainly seem to have the bubbles for it to be true!

I guess they used a piece of GW sprue in their master cast? Not sure why they wouldn't shave it off.

Probably true.

I do not see this ending well if they did just innocently use a piece of sprue. GW will claim false advertising and jump all over them.

I threw mine away sadly but don't those bottom sprues look like the cement road block sprues that come recently on FW stuff? Do the FW blocks have a FW or GW copyright for those that still have them?

So essentially they just gave these heads to GW.

Out of interest, Deathly Angel, did you contact the people behind Puppet's War at all? Either before or after you posted this?

That is a recast of a forgeworld casting gate... The heads themselves.... dunno. Either way reusing the casting gate block is a bad idea (at least without filing off the GW info so it just looks like any other casting gate)... If the heads themselves are original it's not likely to cause *too* many problems, but if the heads are based on GW sculpts then trouble will ensue... and GW will probably check.

Full of holes? Check
Ugly sculpts? Check

They could be finecast >.> <.<

They just might of opened a whole can of 'whoop ass' by mistake if GW legal gets ahold of this.

They can still be in a world of hurt because GW can claim (and rightly so in this instance IMO), that they are trying to pass these of as original GW miniatures...

Ive placed a dozen orders with these guys and have never gotten anything like this

Ah, that was my first guess. I was sad after I threw them away as I realized I could use them as terrain, unfortunately after the fact.

Reminds me of my Elysian head sprues..

I have read before that GW is a major share holder of anywhere between 4 to six gaming companys.They just will not give any info to what companies and to what extent.Me personally i think i have three figured out.Alot of them have ex employees.But if i can find the article i will post it here for everyone to read.
