I have been playing awhile and never seen this come up, but what happens if a unit comes onto the board thorugh difficult terrain (say in dawn of war for example) and it rolls snake eys for movement. What if this unit is a dreadnought or any thing else with a large base and can't fully move onto the board? does it die because part of it is off the board edge, or is there something written somewhere that says it at least gets to move itself on?

If a unit cannot completely move on to the board it is destroyed. IIRC this is from the FAQ.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

My opponent did this to himself a few weeks ago in a DOW game. Vindicator comes on into terrain and rolls a 1 then another for the reroll. He then tries it for a Landraider full of termies and the same thing happens. Needless to say we reset the game and began again since a huge chunck of his army killed itself on the first turn.

I'm waiting for the day I roll 3 ones and all my Kommandos die coming in on my opponent's board edge as I usually opt to move them into terrain to assault that DEV squad raining death on me. Snikrot's base is a 40mm.

If it had a siege shield, there is no need to roll. I thought they auto passed all difficult terrain tests. (unlike dozer blades which just reroll).

Is it more than 6" wide at all points? You may have to park it sideways.

I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time.

i think if the model is more then 6" then it has to move as fast as possible to get on the table. if it cant, because its a walker etc, then as long as it moves the full 6" i wouldnt care if part of it is off, since it moved as far as possible. something like a flier, tank or fast vehicle though, i would expect it to move as much as required to get on. (IE land raiders, valks, etc)

I've lost 2 obliterators that tried to walk on the table with double 1's, so yes not only is it possible but it happens, yet not everyone really knows the rule. You would be surprised how many models, specifically imperial guard flyers (you bastards) should be dead on arrival just because the player want's to fire all the guns.
