I ran this in the DCM forum and got a good response so thought would ask the same here.

I did not get alot done last year due to study and a new baby so 2012 is the year I kick off.

1: Aim for 1 game per week average minimum.

2: Paint more models than I buy.

3: Aim 200 models painted minimum. (I have alot of chariots and snotling pump wagons coming up so my output should slow dramatically soon)

My new sig reflects my new found eagerness.

The only likely derailer is Diablo 2 which I have been playing each night after a couple of years away.

1a. Get my Tyranids to 1500 points, and get them all painted.

1b. When that is done, build and paint my Heirophant.

2. Get my Vampire Counts to 2000 points, and get them all painted.

3. Get my Haqqislam to 300 points painted.

4. Build and paint more terrain.

Start my new Tau army.

Paint all my stuff before next christmas

Play and win a tourney

Improve my understanding of the rules

Set aside cash just in case I find a great deal on an army I would like to start

Play more warhammer fantasy

Find a way to transport my fantasy models...

Realistically, I'd like to do about a game a month and finish up my Sisters of Battle. That's around 40 models at this point, including tanks and walkers, so it should be doable.

I'm planning to avoid buying new stuff until then. Of course, if we see new Sisters models this year, I'm pretty much screwed.

Nice. I have "gaming goals" as well, as much as it sounds stupid I do have them.

I missed out on a lot of gaming and the hobby aspect after my 2 PVDs

Game 2 -3 days a week board or miniatures

Paint the rest of my Firestorm armada, Uncharted Seas and Dystopian wars

which equals to

1 Bone Griffon starter fleet

1 Dindrenzi starter fleet + carrier (stared just finished the base coat of the fleet)

1 Terran carrier + dreadnought

1 Aquan prime starter fleet + dreadnought + BB + Carrier

1 Federated States of America fleet (Started, de-flashed, glued and primed)

1 Kingdom of Britannia

Terrain pieces -

Planets/moons/Asteroids (started 30% done)
Objects for my Cutlass games docks, buildings etc. (I have started making my dock yesterday and I am about half finish)
Make my portable terrain board/mat
Sea Board (I have started this cut the boards, sanded, primed and first coat on)
Hills and Islands

Finish up my 1/300 WWII aircraft (99% done in 3 weeks )


Then there is always those new models I end up buying that I really shouldn't

1. Buy models for a reason, not just willy-nilly.

When I started, I didn't have a clear plan besides blob squads. Army turned into a mess, too many proxies and low on funds. Just got over my head and turned me off to WH40k.

2. Improve my painting.

Really enjoyed the painting and assembling aspect of the hobby, and fielding an army I was proud of ( paint wise ) was an awesome feeling. Primarily going to look towards highlighting and making awesome bases.

3. Play actively, become a regular and join a league at stores we have here.

So yeah, my current long term goals

actually play more than 2 games per year
Buy build and paint 3000 points of chaos traitors
finish all 1500 points of my marines

1. Get all the ork models I own painted (not gonna happen, but a boy can dream...)

My immediate aim is to get my Iron Wolves assembled and get in some practice games for Adepticon.

Longer term... Get back out and playing amongst the unwashed masses at least once a month.

And as an adjunct to that get my Cryx finished off and get back into Warmachine.

Adding to mine in that other thread I guess finishing off my Kirai crew 100%.

1a. Finish painting my Black Templars.
1b. make my custom marshal & sword brethren.
2a. Make my Death Guard army.
2b. Make my Mortarion.
3. Make my display board.
4. Get more friends to play.
5. Make a Gameboard.

Finish painting my Ogres
Play some Warmachine
???
Profit

1. Get my Orks tournament ready (2000 pts painted)
2. Playing a game every other week on average
3. Attend my first tournaments at a FLGS
4. If the tournament proves to be fun, attend more. They hold one per month so every other month on average for me sounds doable
5. Hold out on starting a new army until 6th drops (this may prove to be the hardest goal of the year!)

I'm right in process to buy a house so...

1) get ready my pc/painting/gaming room

2) use it!

2. Build up an optimized Necron 2k tournament list.

3. Play more games as a whole.

4. Attend first 40k tournament with my Orks.

1. Paint all of my Menoth and Mercs.
2. Paint my Grey Knights.
3. Compete in a large tournament.

Finish Making and Painting my smaller Dark Eldar Biotitan.

My 2012 New Year's Resolution is to get my unfinished models painted. Sounds simple but given that I only ever had one painted and based army ever, it's a pretty big task.

I've got Bretonnians, Ogres, and Skaven armies for WHFB as well as Dark Eldar, Necrons, Orks, and Space Marines for 40k. I am currently doing my "vow" on my Skaven army as that one at least has a coat of Talaran Flesh over everything. It's also the one with the most models to do.

I'll be keeping track of my progress in my blog (link in my sig) as well as keeping track of my purchases and stuff. This last bit is to help me reign in my spending. I spent waaaay too much money last year with a complete revamp of my Dark Eldar and Necrons as well as picking up Skaven and Ogres from scratch. :(

1. Get Space wolves up to 3000pts (eep)
2. Get IG up to 5000pts (eep again)
3. Learn Fantasy (you know it's comin...eep)
4. Learn to airbrush (...possible eep)

1. Start 100% converted Necrons
2. Get new Necrons to 500 points
3. Read the rulebook at least once, cover to cover (Well, at least the important stuff)
4. Paint said 500 points of Necrons
5. Win with said 500 points of Necrons

4 and 5 are interchangeable.
