Getting more tempted by Tohaa with every release, but I'm not there yet, thankfully!
Loving the KTS this time around too!

I like the Ko Dali but she's a bit busy. Too much going on to see her. I can't make out the guns at all or the "wings".
I'm happy with Bao. Though I'm not happy I have to buy the box set for the sniper. I can't afford it for a long time. Might have to go through ChoKonitt.
The Gao-Tarsos again looks a bit too busy to me. It could be my aging eyes but I wish it was a little simpler.
The Crusader is not bad if I a bit dancy looking. The Kaplans look okay to me. Not fantastic but not bad either.

Ko Dalis' badass but she's not what I have in mind for a Sarah Kerrigan conversion.
Kaplan box is amazing. I didn't like the first model they released but this box set I love very much. At long last I can use Engineers in my list without fielding a horrible model!

when will Corvus go Plastic like Malifaux???
I love to play infinity on a larger scale. if they somehow took the Malifaux approach with the 5 man plastic box thing... Multipart highly convertible infinity figs. it'd be over for me… could you imagine the large scale killing machines they’d make?

He's been doing them when he sits down to paint.
He only gets one "set" of models to paint for Corvus Belli, so he cannot do a step by step with a second set.

Not in a really long time, CB wants production in house and the plastic has still issues to overcome.
Large scale Infinity, if it happens will most probably be in 15mm, but this would be quite in the future.

Have to say this month's releases are bloody awesome - I'm torn between the new Tohaa unit and the Kaplan as to which I like the most, but they are all pretty nice.
UNCLEBADTOUCH wrote:I really don't know how angel finds the time in his busy schedule but always nice to have insight into the workings of a very talented mind.
I got a chance to speak to one of the Spanish developers of the game, and he said that Angel knocks them out at amazing speed - like sat down with his head turned talking, while he continues to paint absent-mindedly. Some things in life are not fair right?

I think it's definitely a really cool idea - having some larger vehicle within the game. Would it be possible considering the scope of the rules (considering how powerful a TAG is already?) A chap called Descrii on the official forums wrote a scenario called 'Kill the tank' with that thing in mind - basically a large, immobile objective (that is very hard to destroy) with one team trying to move in and put it out of action.
You can find the info on the mission here: http://infinitythegame.com/forum/index.php?/topic/5938-scenario-kill-the-tank/
They recommend you use something like the Antenociti hover-tank, which would suit the aesthetic of Infinity very well:
The one report I've read about the mission was as awesome as hell - with a TO Camo ninja moving up and trying to pull off one of the turrets, but missing and getting splatted with a point-blank shot (you have to think of Ghost in the Shell there!)
One thing I will say though - Infinity is not meant to be a mass-battle system with two armies duking it out on the battlefield - it's meant to represent special-ops teams manoeuvring into position to take each other out. Modern warfare in the Infinity-era is so deadly that the best defence is to remain hidden. Although, I admit I'm intrigued by the possibility of what open combat in that era might look like..
when will Corvus go Plastic like Malifaux???
An interesting point - but looking at this month's releases, how many of them would be re-producible in plastic without compromise?
I think possibly the Kaplan, but even then you would probably lose some of those smaller details. Stuff like Ko Dali or Gao Tarsos not a chance in hell - I would say at least 75% of the Infinity line would need to be made in metal or a resin, it's impossible for miniatures of that detail to be produced in plastic.

I am afraid you are out of luck there, I fully support this.
A 30mm models battlefield in company level is cluttered look at 40k, 15mm is the only way to have space for maneuvers.

CB must of noticed they were bleeding me dry. I only have a single model to buy this month, dose that mean I should start a 4th faction. I keep thinking about joining the Silk trade.

One thing that made me get out of 40k was the ridiculous scale. There's no realistic way a battle should be done with tanks and planes like they have. 15mm could actually be closer to scale on a table.
The only things I would wan them to do in plastic or resin would be the TAGs.

Not to open up the whole can of worms, but...
Playing a normal game of 40k at roughly 1500 points is essentially a "skirmish". It's a snapshot of the battlefield as a whole, one small area of
Anything more than that or in games of Apocalypse, you are supposed to be upsizing the table. If you're trying to play 3k point games on the same table you use for a 1500 point game, of course things are going to get cluttered.
It would be like playing a 300 point game of Infinity with the same terrain layout you had for a 100 point game. Each game scales with points, and refusing to scale with them is detrimental to your game experience.

I would say that even at 1500 and not the 1750 that is the norm here, the table is cluttered with models, especially if horde armies are involved.

Yeah, but horde armies are going to be cluttered.
It's called a horde army for a reason
It's no different than how cluttered an Infinity table can get with a Metro Swarm.

For me, Infinity has a models breaking point and not points breaking point, over 20 models per side is not advisable by me.
The same philosophy for me carries on to all game systems in my opinion, if the table looks full of models and movement is restricted by the mass of models then there are too many models on the table.

Not, really I used the same 4x4 foot table and even set up some time for 150 up to 400 games of Infinity. Swarms, 16ish models look gret hunting the emeny across the board, and die like flies to good ARO placement. But, even GW knows or I guess knew, that 28mm is not meant for large-scale battles that why the made Epic.

I was thinking around 1000-1500 points in size to 40k.
could you imagine most units that come in 4s now coming in squad boxes of 5, extra bits.... your leader determines what your "troops" would be...nice big T.A.G./Tanks, around 40+ some models on the table... less terrain. Faster play same models...same stats, still can use all your old stuff. Oh lord...
back on topic:
I’m admittedly out of the loop a bit, I have bought the new campaign book… I know Ko Dali went to Combined Army but whats happened and what happened to her… she looks Shas now.
Her armor looks like something from Metal Gear Rising… very cool. I guess I need the new book.

I wasn't a fan of the Spitfire Kaplan. Something about it seemed... off? The concept art was fantastic, but the model just didn't do it for me. I think it's the position, it's just... ugh. The box set? Fantastic. Not beating out Druze for me aesthetically, but still really good. Are you kidding me mate? These look twice as good as the Druze
She got Sepsistored by the Shasvastii. Basically, they used her Cube to take control of her. No more Yu Jing profile.

It would seem to make sense that they don't make her illegal*, although it lessens the impact a bit of the CA managing to steal her. Also makes you think of that bit at the end of the Matrix where Neo has spent 15 minutes fighting desperately with agent Smith, finally manages to finish him off, then another one instantly appears. It would obviously be the same for the CA trying to capture Ko Dali ("You've got to be fething kidding me... ! ")
Perhaps a better idea might have been to introduce a new, slightly lower stats version of Ko Dali for the Yu Jing (representing that even though she has been cubed into a new body, she has lost 10% of that edge, of her intangible.unquantifiable fighting ability) or maybe even write a bit of background, where the Yu Jing don't dare to resurrect her in case of a CA virus (kind of like how Aleph won't risk cubing their own troops in fights with CA).
* Although to be fair this is only going to be an issue in about 1% of games, I can't imagine anyone really getting funny about playing against the Yu Jing Ko Dali.
