May I ask (After looking at some of your other articles and tactica), what would you deem the best way to use the Devilfish that comes with the Pathfinders? I find it useless - it just kind of...hovers about...doing nothing..

But then again I never thought of putting rail rifles in my Pathfinder Squads! I shall be using that...

Pathfinders would be perfect if not for the huge Neon SIgn (aka DF) floating above them.

It really doesn't tie in with their fluff and don't really bring anything to the game either. They really just tie up a lot of pts that could be spent else where.

If you want Pathfinders then use them but I personally think, and I think a number of Tau users would agree, one is plenty.

I assume you're going for a pure Tau army??

Read the leaked 6e rules, which this list is designed for. Rail weapons are devastating. They're going to work similarly to Blood Angels "Blood Lance" psychic power.

Thanks for the advice, I've been reading the leaked 6thE Rules too, and if rail rifles do get the rail rule (I don't see why not...) they would be lethal

However, by the looks of it, Tau Battlesuits can no longer move in the Assualt phase (Unless they do it in the Consolidation phase), and are no longer relentless?!

They are no longer relentless, but they don't need to be. All Tau suit weapons are assault or rapid fire, not heavy. Additionally, they still get their move in the assault phase, it's just called something else. I'll look it up Once I'm home and let you know (posting from my phone)

Also, the purpose of the Pathfinder Devilfish should be fairly obvious, my fire warrior units will be embarking in them to assist in objective games.

In kill point games just leave then in reserves and use them in emergency situations only. (ie ramming, or disembarking fire warriors to rapid fire)

Oh my gosh, I never noticed that there aren't any heavy weapons... I need to read my codex again. And it looks like they get a 2D6 move in the Consolidation phase, but that isn't very reliable...
