Ok, finally got the unit done. Took a while to get it done and I got a bit frustrated on the way.

Ok, so the flames... they dont currently work in my opinion. Also have some other things I will try to change in the next batch. Feel free to drop by the p&m blog and give tips on those concerns.

Here we go, unit pics.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

In aspect of technique it is a great work, little to add. But in terms of color palette I find the greens in the flame out of place somewhat.
My solution would be to have the base/core of the flame to be based on blue, and then build it up to green on the raised areas(or to maintain blue through flame, only subtly hinting green), if that makes sense.
This way model keeps that smooth transition from muted red/orange on the bottom to blues on top, unifying the model's colors.

Nice job on the unit. Like the red/black gradient there.

I think the transition between the flame is bit too sharp now, you might want to make some gradient to the base of the flame with the same green by using airbrush (if it can handle that kind of accuracy). Sort of the effect that is going on Eggroll's BAs power weapons and plasma guns etc. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/60/313003.page This would make the flames look like light sources and this way bit more in place IMO.

I would keep the green hues on the flames gives nice sharp contrast to the reds.

On small note I would also fill the gap which is front of the barding below the neck of the horse. As it's on the front of the model it shows now bit much and can brake that nice gradient.

But looking good, waiting to see more of your VC.

BTW, how do you like the new list? Haven't yet gotten chance to check it out myself.

Hello Augustine, thanks for the feedback and tips. I will definitely do something different on the flames next time. I dont really have a good eye for color, so im not surprised that my palette might be strange.

Hello Northen,

I really love Eggrolls stuff, its awesome.
I really like the new VC list, it seems quite powerful and theres multiple choices on how to build a competitive list. Invocation is a bit ridiculous though.

According to the comments the wraiths do seem very spring themed. I added a dark green wash on them to darken them a bit, hopefully it helps.
