Personally I'm not a fan, sure it seems to offer more entries per day but it doesn't look as crisp and the photos are more amateur. Maybe I there are some facebook or other social media benefits but being some nerd who just wants to look at pretty pictures once a day I'm not really digging it.

Bleggghhhh.... I hate the new one. The post are really short, and there is only one subject. The thing to see all the pictures is weird too.

It's complete crap. Bring back Black Gobbo IMO. That was back when GW actually put out content on their site instead of just pics of other peoples work.

I wasn't even aware GW had a blog. All I ever see on the site is "BUY THIS BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME".

Meh, I liked the older version, but this isn't terrible.

At the very least, it's easier to backtrack a couple posts.

New presentation, same useless content, still desperately flogging Dreadfleet.

Just checked it out. I like it, it's not great, but it is better than the old one. Being able to scroll through the days is a huge improvement.

Since the content is about the same, what do people hate about the new one? Pictures seem to load in the same way. About the same amount of content. Why the hate? (compared to the old one that is)

Im going to head down my local GW and play plus buying a few copies !

I like it actually, a more modern design and functionality set IMO

The last blog was a cynical and desperate attempt at more advertising under the facade of 'news' and 'hobby'. It couldn't've been more transparent in its aims and methods.

This... it's too early to tell. Their first few articles were fine, but then they had that obnoxious 'BUY DREAD FLEET PLEASE WE MADE TOO MANY AND IT HASN'T SOLD AS WELL AS SPACE HULK PLEASE BUY IT!' post... so I'm not sure yet.

I'm not a fan of the new one, no. I can already look at other people's paint jobs here on Dakka, or several other sites.

Dont like it myself, website content has been steadily declining of late and this does nothing to redeem it Im afraid.
I cant recall the last time I saw a new modeling/tactics/army article on the site.
Pity, some of the old ones were quite inspiring.

The "Whats new today" has been sliding ever sense they stopped showing anything new on it. GW refused to use the "new fangled interweb thingie" to promote new product. This new blog look is the nail in the coffin for me, I don't even look at it anymore.

Would you prefer it if, in addition to that, they sprinkle links to all the product pages in the article itself? Because that was the old blog.

I mean this still isn't that much better, but those links seriously annoyed the feth out of me.

Doesn't make much of a difference to me, considering that it was, and is, a load of garbage, and will be a load of garbage, regardless of whether or not GW pretties it up.

I prefer the old layout for the articles themselves... the posts were longer and with more pictures often but the navigateing through the days is efficient most of the time, just the actual article layout is what i disagree with. The Flickr pool on the side is always fun to check out though

I hate it.

The only problem I hacve with it is that it takes too long to to load the bigger version of the pictures with an ipod. For me its fine, but a mobile (and a good mobile, not one of those crappy website versions) would be much better for me.

I give it a 7/10 imo.

No major issue with the layout, but no amount of flash presentation can hide the fact that 90% of the time, it's just photos of random gamers' miniatures. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but when every single bloody article is "Check out this guy's miniatures." it gets very tired very quickly.

Needless to say, I have stopped visiting their web pages. In the unlikley event that they become even vaguely interesting, could someone let me know?

Not a fan, but, they are updating quicker than ever. Nothing like looking on a Wensday, and, it still shows Monday articles, if you are lucky. I know that I am unaware of British holidays, however, I have seen that site five days behind. Nothing says "we don't realy care about who buys our stuff, just, keep buying", like that.

Also, that dreadfleet post someone mentioned, Im pretty sure it has the exact same wording as the one they did like 5 days after dreadfleets original release.

While I don't think the new layout offers anything new I do think it is great that GW are plugging the Flickr Pool. Simply because this is GW acknowledging the work and skill of their customers. Yes, the cynic may thing it's quick & free content, but I prefer to look on it as an appreciation of the community.
