Hello I know tau don't use titans but I was thinking of a super heavy skimmer command platform. If you have seen star wars episode 2 you may have noticed those laser cannon artillery things shoting that round thing and i thought using 4 of thoose on my command platform as railguns. But what do the tau use for anti-air (Burst guns or missles.) I was thinking for the cargo hold could hold 2 piranhas and 34 troops including drones but most of the space will be occupied by the cic (combat infomation centre) and gunery control.

The bit were yoda goes concentrate your fire on the ships, the guns fire bring one of the ships crashing down creating a sandstorm.
Because i think they look like the tau could use them.

The orb/gloabe things?
Not in a frontline battlefield no...
A touch too... easy t o hoot...
Something very Tau-ish...
Maybe just a Tau version of a Baneblade.
Super-heavy skimmer with either a load of anti-infantry weapons or a few anti-tank weapons...
Not sure what it'd look like though...

You mean the laser defence platforms that prevent the techno-union ships leaving Genonosis?

The Tau have the Manta avaliable from Forge World. As far as vehicle sgo, some very large grav tank would be most likely.

There is also the Barracudda. Its a fighter/bomber aircraft.

Then there are Orcas, which are purely Drop Ships.

Other then Mantas, the Tau don't have anything that combines transport for ground troops and a gunship platform. All of their vehicles tend to have specilized roles.

Feel free to make something up though. The Tau could definitly have a mobile command center vehicle. Maybe call it the "Mont'ka-MCIC-01" or the Mont'ka Mobile Command Information Center-01

Something slightly larger then a Baneblade with a couple of Twin-linked railgun turrets(or Ioncannons), large quantities of Seeker Missiles, a bunch of Drone operated Burst Cannons/Smart Missile systems, a bunch of networked marker lights, and a squadron of 2 Piranhas(seperate unit) Carrying capacity of 20 models(Battlesuits count as 3 models) not including the Piranhas.

Make an orca variant that trades some carrying capacity for a modest main gun.

Love the idea thanks and I think this could work I thought putting a troop conpartment in the back and a piranha launch bay at the front giving the piranhas the least distance to get into cover. I also might Make an orca gunboat that would replace the cargo hold with a command center to control the nose burst cannons, tail burst cannons, rail gun turrets, flares, jammers, seeker missles and emp launchers.

Any Tau super-heavy/titan should be a flyer imo. The Tau have an angle to them that they fight "realistically" and grounded in more modern star trek-ish sci-fi then Lovecraftian/Gothic/Steampunk.

The official AA tank is the skyray. Only later was it used for other tasks as well. Of course, fighters like the Barracuda can also take down other flyers. The Manta is not for AA defence, but for deploying armies from orbit.

Yes, officially Tau don't believe in Titans and super heavies.
But as they develop fast, personally I can think of them using big Gundams and other superheavies. And the Star Wars design is close to tau design, thats why I will take Gunships as Devilfishes and AAT tanks as Hammerheads (current Revell kits have the right scale). Also huge Star Wars MTT transporters (Episode 1) as terrain. (And the huge Java vehicle as mobile Kroot base )

BTW here the artillery tanks you spoke of:

Here some Gundam ideas:

I built and tested a tau superheavy strangely name the "Mont'Ka"

and getting ready to build a 2nd one, build pics are in my gallery, and it costs around 100-150 bucks for all the assorted bits, but that could be trimed down a bit.

Then a super-heavy of your proposed scale is probably out of your budget.

A lot of people suggest Gundam models as Tau superheavies, but I agree with you, most Gundam's design and even proportions would work better as Eldar units.

As someone who is somewhat knowledgeable about Gundam, I'd have to say a fast, non-humanoid mobile armor may be a better fit for Tau, than a footslogging mobile suit.
In my opinion, the Elmeth (Seen here http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/msgundam/man-08.htm) would be the best fit for Tau fighting philosophy. It's fast, flying, can be controlled by a single pilot, has long-range twin-linked energy weapons, and best of all, can utilize a network of remote-controlled Bits, which are tiny flying guns. It can engage the enemy at extremely long ranges with almost no risk to the pilot, and the enemy is forced to divide their attention between many individual targets as they engage the bits one at a time.

There's a company that made a Super-heavy walker...not sure if they mentioned if it was for Tau but most of the models on the site are dedicated to 40K.

And the thing screamed anime, so it's a good bet it's Tau.

I saw the link in the random miniature adverts on the top of the Dakka pages.

This is like the third Manta post, the OP clearly stated he can't afford it.

@OP it would still be pretty neat if you could scratch build one though.
