Shokk Attack Guns are not competitive. Switch to KFF and drop a boy to make it across the map. Get some PKs, put at least 1 big gun on each wagon for weapon destroy results (rollas don't work for this). Lootas, while effective, are not super-awesome AT, which looks to be a problem for this list. Maybe switch in a rokkit buggy or rokkit kopta (alpha strike scout move or reserve outflank).

I actually like this list. Your SAG and lootas can pop some transports, which is pretty much mostly what you're going to see at 800 points anyway, and your boyz will ride in the wagon, get dumped on an objective, and than the Wagons can get just run into everything.

This list seems like it can do pretty decent, and not be a cookie cutter Ork list.

750 points

In an attempt to make this 800 points, via upgrading whats there, I would take:

Mek - SAG, ammo runt

6 Lootas

20 Boyz (sluggas) - 1 Nob, pk, bp
20 Boyz (sluggas) - 1 Nob, pk, bp

Battlewagon - Deffrolla, bigshoota, armour plates, grot riggers, boarding plank
Battlewagon - Deffrolla, bigshoota, armour plates, grot riggers, boarding plank

This comes out at 798 pts.

I agree with bombboy1252 that this is a nice list..... this said dropping 1 boy and mek with SAG, and taking a mek with KFF and another loota, might be more competitive but less fun

i like the list either or. if you want a good way to have the list be a bit competitive without being a cookie cutter one, a good way for the SAG mek is to tkae a big guns squad, pay 3 points for the 6 extra ammo runts, and then just have the SAG attached to the unit to tap into those ammo runts with his own. thats a total of 7 ammo runts to make sure the high strength stuff hits and hurts!

could drop off the big guns and boarding planks to keep it at 800

I think this list is good as it is, and kinder orignal. This list is for a doubles tournment, just testing out some lists i could use, but obviously got to mesh in with my partner!

KFF's in doubles and team play can be amazing. Team up with IG and watch your opponents wet their pants as they face Leman Russ squadrons with a 4+ cover!

DacGerm's list is solid, though i general, the KFF's are competitive, and SAG's are fun.

Well you say go with guard, but i am either with a marine or greyknights player. who is going to have a footslog. So i thought the SAG would be better to cover them.

I'm just giving an example. There are many unexpected combinations possible. An example of why I don't "like" SAGs for support is that for 115 pts, marined can field a vindicator, S10 AP2 pie plates.....no rolling strength. I compare a lot of "artillery" to this for point effectiveness.

If you're all footslogging, I'd try for the big gunz/kannons, and lootas so you have cover fire while going in.

This is a good idea with a few misconceptions. Artillery are fragile, but they can give the Big Mek a layer of saves by having hits only affect the Krew to whom he is attached on a 5+, the rest being absorbed by the AV10 Gunz. Since the Gunz and Krew are separate, the Krew, and the SAG attached to them, can shoot against different targets.

I used to to think that the Big Mek could utilise the Big Gunz Ammo Runts, but the Codex specifically says "The battery may include [ ] up to three ammo runts", unlike Flash Gitz, which says "The unit may include up to three ammo runts". The distinction between the Battery and Krew precludes the availability of the Big Gun Ammo Runts to the Krew, of which the Big Mek is a part. Also, the Ammo Runt limit for the Battery is 3, not 6. There are "up to six additional grot krew" available, AKA a convenient meat shield.

I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time.

I remember reading this, but could someone remind me where? I know it's going to come up for a reference request in a future game.

I calculate this at 778....but maybe I'm just tired.

Here:

85 - Big Mek w/KFF

75 - 5 Lootas
75 - 5 Lootas

154 - 19 boyz, nob upgrade w/PK, BP
160 - 20 boyz, nob upgrade w/PK, BP

125 - Battlewagon w/Deffrolla, AP, BS
125 - Battlewagon w/Deffrolla, AP, BS

799 points.

The grot riggers can be nice, but 800 points is short and sweet, and not much can take on AV14 WITH KFF support. Besides, the Big Mek can handle repairs on one of them, and chances are, HIS vehicle will be primaried anyways. Lootas are good against light armor and MC's, and fair against infantry, and should be fine at 800 points. Anything that requires heavier hitting can be deffrolled and chopped up with PK's.

I recommend only putting Mobz of 19 in both Battlewagons so that the Big Mek has a seat he can hop into if/when his BW is stopped. I also put Grot Riggers on all my BWs since I don't plan on hm sticking around on an immobilized BW if another is nearby.

At 800 points, a SAG is going to wreck anything on foot. And it's fun!
