a friend of mine loves to deepstrike his Termies and wipe out one of my squads. would deathmarks be a viable counter? he runs 3 obliterators which could make for a good mark as well.
does dakkadakka agree?

If you use the combination VOD Harbinger of Despair/Deathmark strat to mark a terminator squad then blast it with the 8-1 template, you can wreck them - provided you don't mishap. Alternately you can forgo the VoD and stick them in a night scythe.

Barring that, you could use a minimum deathmark squad as bait, bringing them in within 24" but out of threat of the terminators, and force your opponent to deal with them before engaging the rest of your army, or ignore them and suffer two rounds of shooting. .

A maximized deathmark squad with a RezLord and lance-tek can drop some hurt on a terminator squad and withstand the return fire; but if they get caught in assault, you're going to lose the squad to sweeping advance.

Chaos terminators are no joke in assault, with just a stupid number of attacks in CC and/or 4+ invul saves. So you're better off keeping your distance and using things like annihilation barges to stack wounds on them and draw heat.

A Lance-Tek Court is a great anti-terminator squad. 5 lascannons and a solar pulse for around 200 points can outrange them and put them down while moving 6" away from them every round.

Wraiths tend to go blow for blow with terminators, maybe not chaos terminator champions with dual lightning claws and a mark of khorne, but for the most part, a 6 man wraith squad kitted out to around 250 points will at least keep those terminators tied up for 2-3 rounds.

You can also slow them down with tremorstave hits. 4 lances and a tremorstave in a single court can keep those terminators from getting close.

If you go with the Court tactic, you'll probably also want a rezorb in there with them, or you'll want to stick them on a ghost ark to keep them safe, moving, and shooting every round; but now we're talking about some serious points.

Terminators can't sweep.

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

The VOD/Deathmark combo is certain doom for almost any terminators. But you need to DeepStrike nearby.

Wraiths with coils do well, other than against Grey Knights with Halberds. Then they do ok, maybe.

Deathmarks with VOD and mindshackle scarab lord is a cute tactic, if they survive and close ot CC, just shackle the best fighter and hope for him to kill off the others.
