Subject: Nids in the Leaked 6th ed?

Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

Ok so I have been reading over the leaked rules and have been playing nids for quite a long time, so my question is, what do people think about nids in the leaked rules?
What works better, what doesn't work as well?
My personal thoughts are that hormaguants got a buff, deep striking trygons are now actually quite useful what with the deep striking followed by an assault. Tactics as far as what to use what not to use?
As far as the nids are concerned what changes with warriors? Anything good in them anymore?
One more question I would ask is if raveners are something to be feared, or is their 5+ still just too detrimental.

Just want to go on a mini rant here, feel free to ignore me...
But why is everyone having to talk about the 6th ed rules?
For a start the leaked stuff could all be fake/old/changed, secondly its not out for another few months. But there have been a number of threads discussion how so and so army will be in 6th ed. Surely it doesn't matter until its actually out?
From the little I read (just a few points in the summery) seemed like Nids could be quite useful, something to do with ID being changed could help.

Well, many of us are playtesting/refining this ruleset because we find it far more fun then 5th edition. When 6th comes out, some of us may still play the PDF version (with some tweaks).
As far as Nids go, one of the biggest things I like about it is simply that our 200-300 point MCs don't get insta-splatted by a 20 point model who makes a leadership test anymore. Hormagaunts are quite nice. Trygons are much more viable in a deepstriking role due to assaulting afterwards and being able to time their arrival from reserves so you can actually make reliable use of their tunnel. Mawlocs actually have the biggest boost as they can use their Terror from the Derp rule, be immune to and defensive fire, and assault immediately after.
Lictors are much better now that their reserve bonus works while they are still in reserves, and again the fact that you can assault after deep striking. A very nice combo is dropping lictors then next turn dropping the DoM so you can make sure he is close enough to get plenty of targets for his Spirit Leech. The DoM is also much nastier due to the changes in ID.
Warriors are more viable, but str 8+ weapons will still tear through them fairly quickly. Raveners took a little hit in that regular CCWs will ignore their 5+ armor.

I will tell you why. It is a combination of reasons.
- A foolish belief that these rules will mostly resemble the finished rules, which is just silly to put it mildly. These people want to discuss the rules earlier to get a leg up on the competition tactics-wise, to figure out what models to buy and how to equip them. This IMHO is a ridiculous idea, because there is insufficient evidence and therefore no reasonable reason to believe this leak will closely resemble the actual 6th edition rules.
- A more reasonable belief that aspects of this leak could potentially be in the 6th edition, so they may as well look into it so that they'll be able to more quickly adjust their tactics when the real rules come out.
- Some people are bored / they like to discuss hypothetical what-if type scenarios, regardless of the chances of the leak being legit.

@ Joe Mama first off I just want to say don't post on this thread please, that's all I ask of you, I just wanted some friendly advice on what people thought about an army i enjoy playing with units that i thoroughly enjoy playing with but were just not gaming friendly to people who are competitive yet don't need to win.
So again this is just a polite way of asking anyone who doesn't have thoughts on the title to simply not post on this thread.
@Maelstrom Thank you for your input, that is actually what I am trying to do with this forum.
So onto my thoughts, I am deeply interested in seeing how the raveners are in the new "leaked" rules, I really do love them in the background and in the game, I run a squad of 6 with rending claws now, as they are beasts with the fleet rule I use them to start on the field.
Also I completely agree that the lictors now are going to start seeing the battle more with a bit more scare impact in the enemies hearts.
Hope that there are more posts on nids that are going to become more useful or nids that will stay in the display case and just look pretty I.E. pyrovore.
So I would like to ask again

I've playtested with the PDF and have to say Trygon's scare me to no end. I played a game where my friend deep struck 2 of them and the ability to charge after the deep strike ripped apart my necrons. Granted I deployed poorly in retrospect but they can cause a lot of carnage.

So defensive fire on the trygons doesn't put them down easily? I am pretty scared for the opponents of my 3 trygon rush from the deep, or the 2 trygons and 3 carnifexes that I sometimes run.
Any thoughts on venomthropes? Worth it or not?
Any actual tactics that anyone has put to use? or is it same as before the long march forward with as many bugs as possible?

1st. To address the 'why bother', I'll say this - I like these rules, regardless of whether they're 'real' or not. Someone put a lot of work into them and they're very fun to play. If other people like them as well, I'll support that.
Okay, Leakhammer Tyranid player:
Outflanking is Nuts- Probably the biggest boost besides being able to assault out of deep strike. It's not subject to defensive fire, and it allows you to choose your board edge. Any model that can outflank, and has fleet, has a gigantic 22" threat range from either board edge; while they may not show up as early as they used to, they're worth the wait.
Assaulting out of Deep Strike- Take another look at lictors, the deathleaper, trygon, and mawloc. If they can withstand the defensive fire from your target squad (mawloc I'm looking at you) they can get right in there and start tearing up ceramite.
The Harpy is a flyer!
