Hey guys so I just got the Canis Wolfborn model for my birthday and decided to paint the wolf fur first.
I've decided to go from a Bleached bone to Chaos Black/Devlin Mud transition, and wanted to see what you guys think so far:

A lot of trial and error, first I went with dry brushing from Calthan Brown to Bleached Bone, but it was too messy.

So I stripped the model and primed black, then base coated Calthan Brown. I then painted bleach bone onto every piece of fur, to get a cleaner coverage, then used washed to create a light bottom to dark top (Gryphone Sepia to Devlan Mud to finally Badab Black). I then went and touched the lighter areas back up with Bleached Bone and highlighted with skull white.

You know, I think in almost all cases dry brushing is too messy. Maybe I'm just doing it poorly, but I think it's something to be used in very small doses to highlight up a very sharp edge, very fine details, or other small parts. Not the whole model, or a majority of it.

This is great, just excellent.
Yes, tell us all about the painting process here.
The shadows on the face really make it look mean and vicious.
