Looks cool from what I've seen so far. Kind of makes me think of Hancock in a way.

Since my real name is Andrew, I like how the evil character is named Andrew

And honestly, if my friends and I got powers, Id definately be the one that goes crazy

It looks, to me, like a cross between Heros and X-Men. I'm definitely interested, but it's unlikely I'll go see it in the theater. Damn kids.

The problem is I still like movies like this, but have aged out of their core demographic (under 18 apparently ). And that core demographic is annoying as feth.

Why do you assume that evil = crazy?

I'd totally be the evil guy, but not because the superpowers would make me crazy.

Fair enough. I didn't really watch the trailer beyond the "ooh, gak gets destroyed" level.

Trailer looks decent enough, but I'm scared its gonna end up being "I Am Number 5" .. so I'll wait for HBO.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but my buddy told me the bad guy is up for the role of Tetsuo in the possibly upcoming Akira live action movie or something along those lines.

I suspect he was unbalanced before hand, maybe some kind of bullying victim or just a general delinquent, and the powers basically just allowed him to do everything he fantasized about.

Looks okay, but the adverts have put me off slightly. If I discovered I had these sorts of powers, Hell would be raising in my wake, and the land would be flattened underfoot to make room for it.

No, i'm not crazy.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Excerpt from "Seeress of Kell", Book Five of The Malloreon series by David Eddings.

Ok just got back from watching it. Surprisingly, its a good movie. It has funny moments when the 3 are learning and exploring their powers, and it slowly builds on the main character and how he turns out. I dont really want to give a whole lot away incase some of you are going to see it this weekend. If anyone is actually really interested I guess I could leave a spoiler or something.

The effects werent too bad either, although you could tell they were definitely on wires at times. Basically this movie is a mix of a documentary movie (like paranormal or Cloversfield but instead of purposely poor camera quality it was normal movie quality) and Akira. Seriously, there was alot of Akira feeling aspects in this movie. The main kid, is the runt and not everyone likes him, and he has one friend (his cousin) who seems to do anything in his power to help him (Kaneda anyone?) and his power slowly corrupts him. And a few others but again, I wont talk about those unless someone wants a spoiler.

So yea, definitely worth a looksee.

Those are the funny parts of the movie. They are figuring out how to make their powers work and the limits and so on. And I cracked up a few times watching all that

I was surprised, I was expecting it to suck, but ended up liking it, as did a large group of people we walked out with. Everyone was talking about what they liked about it
