Okay, so the 500 list that is currently undefeated at my FLGS is two squads of 11 boyz with a powerclaw Nob, and 2x Warbosses upgraded with a powerklaw and more (forgot what specifically, but apparently they're highly upgraded) and each set of these are in a trukk with red paint job. The problem is we play on a 6' by 4' so he can pretty much always get into assault by turn 2 unless you manage to stop both trukks on the very first turn. Anyway, here's the list I'm thinking about running:

Option 1:

HQ:
Librarian (100)
-The Avenger, Vortex of Doom
Troops:
Tactical Squad (175)
-5 men, Combi-Melta
-Las/Plas Razorback
Scout Squad (75)
-5 men, 5x CCW & Pistol, Meltabombs
Heavy Support:
Predator (85)
-Heavy Bolter Sponsons
Predator (60)

Option 2:

HQ:
Librarian (100)
-The Avenger, Vortex of Doom
Troops:
Tactical Squad (175)
-5 men, Combi-Melta
-Las/Plas Razorback
Scout Squad
-5x CCW/Pistol
Heavy Support:
Devastators
-4x ML

I know a basic predator seems like a bad idea, but I was just trying to get as many guns as possible that can shoot down the trukks before they get to me. The Scouts are so I can fit in the extra big weapons and to speed bump the orks. Any suggestions? I know a Long Fang squad of Space wolves that can split fire would wreck the ork build, but unfortunately I don't have that luxury. List 2 doesn't have as good a chance of taking down both trukks first turn like list 1 does, but I think it has a better chance if taking down the boyz if I manage to get both trukks.

Perhaps try to beat him at his own game? I mean if he wants to assault... out assault him!

5x Scouts /w Bolt Pistol & Combat Blade, Sarge has Combi-Flamer

He literally can't deal with that hammer unit. They will wade through him until he's dead.

Trukks are open topped and only AV10. You are really looking at a turn 1 you must stop the trukks scenario. For me the heavy bolter is your friend and it is how many can you get out there at 500 points.

Option

5 man tactical + TL HB razorback 130
5 man tactical + TL HB razorback 130
3 Landspeeder w 2 HB 150
1 Predator (AC + 2 HB sponsons) 85

If you HAVE to take an HQ I would agree with the Librarian.

The risk of course is that he gets a trukk to survive but that should be relatively low odds considering this list gives you 30 S5 shots and 2 S7 shots. If he gets to one razorback and kills it, so what? You are then going to unload 27 S5 shots into 12 boys... they are dead. If you have some points to spare, perhaps combi-flamers on both sergeants.

The other thought is placement. You want interlocking fields of fire but ideally you don't want everything in one place. HBs have a 36" range and so ideally you want to space your stuff out about 20" apart from each other. He may be able to dismount and kill one or even two things but then your superior weight of fire should do him in.

no codex, but I love fighting my own orks with SM lists.

2 Dreadnought w/TL lascannon. Will pop his trukks at 48". Also a dreadnought will most likely kill a warboss in one round since he is str 10 DCCW and has an initiative advantage over a warboss.

Scouts with hellfire round(they have a combi hellfire round option) to snipe and pin them once they are out of the trukk, use the hellfire round.

Something fast like landspeeders with flamers to do some more dmg once they are out of trukk.

tac squad with flamer and ML to finish up with ML templates/assist popping the trukk.

Not a single ork will make it across the board.

that is honestly a terrible ork list for 500 points. You don't really NEEDto stop both trukks just stop 1 and he is done. Dreadnought(s) will take care of the warboss. Hellfire rounds eat orks on foot. You can't pin them until you get them below 11 in number, but the hellfire round and ML template + flamey things will easily cut a squad that small in half.

10 tac marines can kill whatever makes it through your lines. The two Lascannons +Ml should pop both trukks, but if they only get one then focus on splitting his forces. make the sloggers eat flames and blast that squad to pieces. if one squad of 11 boyz and one warboss make it though big deal. The dreads and marines will anihilate one 12 pack of boyz.

I like this list, but i would change a few things. Firstly, if you are going to have scouts, put Sniper Rifles on them. They are pinning, so there is a change you are able to slow down an ork squad, one less CC problem to deal with. The devastators squad is a great idea. 4 S8 shots will wreck the tanks, and then you have a barrage of pie plates to land on the orks. As for the Librarian, the one, and only time i used Vortex of doom, it scattered back onto a squad of marines and a drop pod. THe maries fell back, the drop pod exploded and wounded the libby (Epic Fail ) So i tend to over look it. Maybe, just maybe, you could have the machine spirit ability (cant remember the name of it). That single glancing hit might slow it down just enough, who knows? But anyway, a combi melta on the tact squad is wasted, i think. 4 MLs will take out the tanks before the C-M is worth using. Might as well swap to a flamer, drop that template before you get assaulted, right.

The only thing i would have done differently, is included a Thunderfire Cannon. They are awesome. 4 pie plates at S6 causing dangerous/difficult (dont have codex to hand) terrain tests. That would really slow them down.

All in all, a good start

I think a devastator squad with missile launcher's is the best way to go. This will leave you with only a small amount of points to spend on other units, but the advantage of having a squad with so much firepower will balance this out.

As an ork player, what I would suggest...
Don't use meltas on truks, even lascannons are a bit overkill, AV10 open topped can be popped by most things, 2 missiles will be sufficient.
Strategy wise, kill only one of his truks. Your best strategy would be to split up his troops. or boyz are only dangerous in bigger numbers.
Then a flamer will take you far.
If you are certain that is his army, I wouldn't use too many armoured things, 2 warbosses and 2 nobs will put out far too many power klaw hits.
