Amazing excavation of an ant city -- they pour 50 tonnes of concrete down the holes, wait for it to set, then dig it up to find the layout. Could be inspirational for anyone wanting to map out (or build) tyranid tunnels.

I'd be so cack at fighting Tyranids were I a Guardsman, rather fight Orks or Chaos to be fair.

That looks amazing! Always been a huge fan of ants and what kind of stuff they do - anything from employing ranged weapons and chemical warfare to slave raids, infiltration and assassination (more detailed here) to actual farming (both by planting fungus inside their colony as well as keeping lice to milk them). It's almost scary how smart, almost human-like some types of ant hives can appear, even if everything is done purely by instinct.

Hey, you want to build something like that, go for it. It seems impractical given the time involved, the significant advantage the closed-quarters would give some armies over others, and the scales you're talking about, but I will be suitably impressed and heap praise on you if you do build a table based on that construction.
