Hey guys I was wondering, what was the weirdest thing you have found wrong with the battleforces or battalions? Like any misplaced items, or just things being totally destroyed when you bought them? Hopefully we could get some crazy stories up in here

I once got a Dark Elf Battalion with no bases, but GW sent me tons of replacements way more than I needed, I still have some of them and that was like 3 Years ago.

This was years ago now, with the previous incarnation of the eldar battle force. I picked it up from games day while i was an outrider there, got home, opened it up... and.. nothing eldar inside

I had a Rhino.. a single $70 Rhino..

Oh stop complaining, its for the greater good... Now get in the box!

None of them except the Tau one contains a legal army.

Almost all of them contain at least one unit that is a "bad" unit.

Space Marines: Assault Marines?

Blood Angels: Tactical squad? Really GW?

CSM: Posessed?

Eldar: Guardians?

Tau: Stealth Suits?, at least it doesn't have an etherial.

Ork: yay, I save $3 over buying the contents seperatly.

Okay, not a Battleforce story but;
Canadian Games Day '08: Local semi-regular buys a box of assault termies at GD, opens it up at home, missing the sprue of termie bodies.
Brings it in, I exchange it for one of the boxes on the shelf. 40 minutes later, poor guy is back, box also had no bodies. Exchange it again for another box, open it in the store, no bodies. Grab the final box on the shelf, open it up, no weapon arms!

At least he went home with enough parts to make his 5 termies though! But seriously? 4 boxes all missing at least 1 sprue is kinda epic-fail at the very least.

The worst battleforce box I've seen was our first shipment of Space Wolf sets; 6 boxes in total, each box had all four sets of wolf claws miscast as the blades looked more like stubby little 'wolf mittens'.
Made us happy though! Every box that was returned ment 'oodles of spare bitz for our 3 new 'store' Space Wolf armies!

Bought a battle force from a local independent store for my Necrons, was assured it had been opened to show a customer but it was all there.

Opened it at home and I was missing:

1 Destroyer
12 Warriors

and all associated bases, scarabs and rods for the above.

My guess, it was a refund and he didn't check the guy had nicked the sprue for those bits.

Still I got some money back.

Bought some GK termies at Warhammer World when I opened it there was a bag of bases, but the bases looked like someone had stomped them into powder, smashed into tiny bits. The odd thing was the box was pristine and the base bag was fully intact. Weird.

Tyranids have a legal battleforce if you assume that one of the warriors is a prime.

In 4th edition, warriors were HQ no matter what, so it was legal then as well.

Eldar: Guardians?

Some of us Eldar players like to use guardians for footslogging armies. Don't be so dismissive of units you think are worthless. Each unit, in my experience anyway, has its use. I use guardians to hold objectives for example. And I use assault marines as well.

Of course anything can be used properly, hence why "bad" was in parentheses.

The missing bases thing comes up a lot.

Upon my return of a first box of bloodletters, I open the second in the store, and the regional manager happens to be in at GW. No bases.

He comps me a bag of bases. Like poster timeofeo said, you got those for years. Especially cool when you start converting a tervigon an need a 60 mm base, and rippers in need of 40 mm bases, etc.

Put that Carnifex back in GW. If I want more gaunts, I'll buy a box of them.

Yeah, but Carnifexes are awful in the new codex so it's kind of a wash.

My catachan battleforce had 2 copies of the regular infantry sprues, so instead of getting 10 different guys for each squad, each squad had 5 groups of twins. My Heavy Weapon teams were also extremely warped on the spru and had a ton of imperfections. However, I forgot to call in to GW to get replacements so I guess I'm screwed...

And holy crap our battleforces used to come with a Leman Russ??!??!? Jeez I would kill to have that one back, I don't need any more CCS or Sentinels!

So call GW and get it replaced? That's just a general manufacturing oversight, not a battleforce problem.

The only problem I have ever had was missing bases, which I think had more to do with it being obviously re-shrink wrapped.

Not really a problem... But back in 3rd Edition when they had the $200 USD army deals I bought myself a Tyranid army after the new plastic Gaunts/Warriors/Genestealers first came out (but still when they had metal Hive Tyrants and Carnifexes).

When I received it, they had run out of the new Biovore model so gave me two of the old one and a dozen Spore Mines of various types.

Better still, I had twice as many boxes of Gaunts as were supposed to be in the box.

I also had a friend I haven't spoken to in years that ordered a pack of Blood Claws and was sent a Land Raider. They told him to keep the Land Raider and then sent him the Blood Claws he didn't get.

Not sure if its still the case, but historically when GW screws up shipments miracles seem to happen.

Concerning the tyranid battleforce, if GW paid any attention to the customers, they would just take out the hormies. Hormies are awful, and everyone knows it. Put in double the termies.

I got two of the same chaos tank accessory sprues, which made me happy
