Hey everybody! Time for another MsterSlowPoke vs WhiteOutMouse battlereport! Woo!
Enjoy!
[Edit]
Oh, and to get the questions out of the way, these are my Emperor's children -count as- Grey Knights. I have a PM blog here... Need to do an update...
*I forgot the "Pharon" upgrade for 2nd lord and the two "Solar Pulses"
*Hard to see, the objective is not painted. It's a white 40m,m base with pc power connectors cut up and placed to look like some kind of cyber-vent thing.
*Everything comes in, nothing reserved. Overlord's command barge is proxied with a tau piranha since MSP has yet to assemble it. Lazy bones
* Strategy here is to use the "Psychic Communion" to have everything come in on turn two, and use servo skulls to make risky deep strikes more achievable. But I stink at placing servo skulls since this is my 2nd game and I am still getting the hang of it
*I should have seen this coming, but I was surprised and mad at myself for letting it happen.
*Rolled a lot of "ones" for reserve so nothing I can do about that, even if my other inquisitor was alive.
*decided combat squad since I need to shoot a lot of tragets down and I'm not afraid of assault so much.
Got to make the difficult terrain test. Can't let him remove the front guys. Should do great in CC anyway.
* Resilient unit, really love the rules for this, love the way GW is going in the rules department.
*Put enough wounds to force a save on Cryptek
*Rolling 6's to wound with my 2+ is hard to do.
*This hurt, but has to happen eventually
*Everything's here, time to really push the Objectives
*Stave is kinda interesting, not only useful vs foot it, immobilizes a vehicle 1/6 the time per hit, which is better-than/ equal-to most weapons when you think about it. Since with a lance and gause rule you find yourself shooting at vehicles anyway.
Neither rolled their living metal save, first time I ever saw them fail it.
*Even though the success rate of assaulting it was low I had to do it. This was the worst outcome obviously.
*Now he's contesting my stuff!
*Combat gets pushed, WS 4 kinda stinks.
*This is big
*Lil' bastard
*Inquisitor and left termies shot the barg, so had to assault that but mannaged a multi-assault. But the termies on the right rolled too low on their difficult terrain roll and failed their assault move.
*Kinda sucked
*Opened up the 'Crons to do this
*Didn't go far on the move difficult terrain test, was going to "Run!" under ruins to contest but that's only one dice and assault move is 2D6, so I need a 3 either way, and I get to kill that bastard.
Hope you enjoyed this!

don't know why he assaulted you, if he didn't then he would have more troops left to contest hold or get another round of shooting at you, but good game, pretty averaged, no ridiculous luck, onl a bit of luck on both side evens it out.

I can't say I've ever heard of Counts-As Emperor's Children, so points for originality.

Really love the idea of that list and it fits pretty well with the Emperor's Children I think. The dreadknight is going to be awesome when it is done.
One suggestion, would it be worth swapping one of the Inquisitors for a Librarian? They are huge force multipliers with Might of Titan/Quickening/Summoning. Can they take Psychic Communion?
The idea being he can start on the board and move up over time and add some mobility to your army.

Mad props on the 25% terrain, I see too many reports where the table looks positively bare.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did. |

Fantastic Report, and a ton of pictures! Great job! The Terrain is just fantastic.
Quick Question, are Servo skulls part of the Inquisitor's unit? In turn 3, it looks like the Barge did sweep attacks on the Inquisitor, and the Servo skulls. Sweep attacks can only be made against one unit.

I believe they don't have a statline and just get removed when enemy models get into a certain range of them .

Ahhh, that makes sense, thanks.
Looking forward to more reports from you guys, this one was VERY easy to follow everything. Can't wait to see that Emperors Children army fully painted and converted!

Loved the pics! Really nice and easy to follow.
I like the idea of 'counts as' emperors children, the dreadknight as a daemon prince and chosen termie units with halberds to represent the higher init.
My only question was why the 2 tda inq instead of a TDA space marine? Just cause of how effective they are?
As an aside, Daemonprince Fulgrim with the serpent body would make for a fantastic Draigo, leading the 'true' chosen Emp Children terminators as paladins.

They are really cheap ways to get psycannons and the psychic communion power I need. Grandmasters are 175 base and only get more expensive.

I present, my second dreadknight
The unpainted inquisitor you see in this report has magnetized arms to turn him into Grand Master Mordrak or Driago depending on what the list wants. I also have heavily possessed terminators to use for ghost knights/paladins since they will look much different than the other 30 guys you see in this report.
