Well... that's interesting.

Certainly less busy than other recent releases.

I wonder what the price is, hitech is usually quite pricey

True, although I think it's not much of an improvement compared to the gw oblits

I like this not-Obliterator.

I also liked their other "busy"-looking not-Mechanicus figures. They were so Mechanicus that their gears had gears. I just wished many of those models didn't look so press-molded like Scibor's lesser stuff.

Either way, this looks great. I hope it'll look fine next to the current Obliterators.

kenshin620 wrote:True, although I think it's not much of an improvement compared to the gw oblits

Not a bad thing. It won't look so out-of-place next to GW Oblits (I hope).

Actually, you know--if you disattached his armys and added an iron hammer--he would look a lot like Perturabo

That face is ridiculous. Kind of ruins the whole model.

I would like it better if the head was socketed so you could use different heads for variety. Also the arms would be better served if the weapon barrels where seperate pieces to allow for different barrels, etc. to be added as opposed to fixed weapons. Otherwise if you have multiples of these they are going to look very "samey".

The detailing on the armour is nice, cables, etc. Teh face not so much...

I'll retract my 'too busy' comment actually. Looking over the range of minis again there are certainly some that have details that detract from the overall figure (a lot of the not-Terminators with wings... the wings are bad), but the only truly model that is far, far, far too busy is this guy.

Lose the wings, the halo spikes and the doo-hickey's coming outta the top of his staff, and he's golden.

And I've never seen these guys before. They're awesome!

quick question, i love things like this but can they really be used in a 40k game? i know using pieces is acceptable but to use a 100% none GW piece. how does that work?

If the people who you play with/place where you play at require you to use GW minis, then you cannot use it. Otherwise, you can.

If he's taller than the average Oblit (and most of these minis are bigger than regular 40K models), then he'd make a great Obliterator 'character', like some sort of Iron Warriors Warsmith gone bad!

Based on Hitech's track record, I'd be shocked if there aren't more sculpts coming...

Having browsed through their website a few times before, their style is beginning to grow on me. Would anybody who's bought their stuff care to comment on how well their not-Terminators scale with GW's?

The Shield Bearers are cool, and would be an interesting way to convert Terminators to have a Storm Shield... but at 6 Euro EACH? That's in the area of $9 US!!! No thanks!
