In a game I had my talos charged some guard but since they cant hurt him (T7vsS3) can they use frag grenades? Cos if they could my talos would have died  We just agreed that they couldn't because grenades are in the vehicule section, not the monstrous creature section.

nope. frag grenades are assault grenades used to negate cover so you fight at init. kraks/meltas etc are used on vehicles or walkers, and talos being a MC is treated like infantry in CC. it just has more toughness, attacks etc then a normal trooper. the *only* thing im aware of that can use grenades on MC are ultramarine "nid hunters' or tyrannic war vets or w/e they are called - and only on tyranid MC, and that may have even been the previous 'dex and not the current one.

Just to clarify, you can use frag grenades in an assault against vehicles, just not against Monstrous Creatures.

Grots piling from a battlewagon with stikkbomb chukkas can take down vehicles
The Chukka grants them frag grenades for the turn they pile out of the tailgate
|

provided the vehicle has AV10 they can.
same with a PGL. gives the whole squad defensive and offensive grenades meaning warriors can hurl str 4 grenades

True, but unlikely to ever be seen on a battlefield. Surely there's something better for a battlewagon to do than transport grots to a vehicle assault.

I've done it before
I occasionally run a sqeaky tide, with 3 battlewagons as the HS, and i'm not rolling them empty
If nothing else it's great for the 'what the...' moment it inspires
Sometimes my BW give a unit a lift to an objective also, and when your only scoring unit left is a dozen grots and their handlers..
