Hello!

I figured it was time for a general work blog. I am very flightey Hobbywise so i think it would be better to have it all in one place. If you are not aware of some of my past exploits i'll introduce my armies/projects.

The Kabal of the Perverse Fist. ON HOLD

Spoiler:
He looked to what gripped the boy; a gnarled perversion, a mockery of a fist in frond and function. It did not easily give, a sadistic defiance, something that seemed strangely reminiscent to the male.

The Diatribors IN PROGRESS

Spoiler:
The reactor was too far gone but you were right to send my brothers aboard, you were right to try.

Unnamed Feral/Hunter Dark eldar *NEW*

Spoiler:
Woe the hunted and Pity our prey

Have decided i like yellow, am not entirely sure about the Red Bodysuit but do think it is needed to distunguish the scheme from the marines.

Isnt finished yet the bodysuit needs a final highlight, the Warsuit is finished however and i am happy with the yellow.

'Post production' wise i may add some weathering and chipping to the armour.

Tony Stark would approve.

Thanks for the comments vik and the subscribe Merlin!

Been pootling around with some other stuff in the workshop but i decided to give him a couple chips. I am quite happy with the one on his helmet, a bit cheesy but i think pretty cool.

He should have a rifle on his back but it KEEPS FRICKING FALLING OFF!!!, Will paint it up and stick it on to finish the model. Along with the details which are the bits that are painted black.

i think i like the rifle idea... will it be just stuck on or will he be having some sort of belt with it? i dunno... maybe DE have that secret equip that guns can be just attached to their suit?^^

and the chips look very good.. specially the one on the face/helmet! space pirate^^ arrrrr^^

Here's some modelling work, the splinter canoneer's a prospective trueborn the 'showbiz' looking guy is a Sybarite. The reason he is a 'prospective trueborn' is that i like his distunguishing Gorget so much i have dissembled a couple of the warriors to get them. Thus he is missing the 'leet factor', think he needs something else.

The sybarite i think needs a scope, as i think he has a nice 'Master hunter vibe'. The problem is i Know the exact part to use (One of 'Stalks' of the darklance) but using it would diminish the trade value of my, quite impressive, collection of infantry dark lances. the other option is to somehow extend the Splinter rifle.

@Vik

Yeah just on his back, the raider sprue has a couple splinter rifles in a sorta holster thing so it doesnt look like the guns just floating there.

Its not like skyrim where the quiver/bow just floats on top of the armour, infact loads of fantasy games have dumb looking floating weapons. Thats what's great about Mass effect with the folding guns concept and Gears of war with the little magnet nodes the guns stick on to. Lol serious Tangent there

EDIT: Cheers for the Sub Gitsplitta, big fan.

ah i see... also nice belt on the other minis of yours... and that perspective, while scenic, but it doesn´t give much away^^

and i am no help what to do to get a scope for DE... dunno even how these might look...

and yep, for preferrence i like to have holsters and blets to not have to "un"glue gins from bodies^^

I love that DE scheme, haven't seen anything quite like that, and it works brilliantly.

Got some fw goodies, a contemptor and tartarus terminators. I am struggling with the pose of the contemptor so i haven't assembled it yet. For the contemptor i was thinking a sprint, i have went for two CC arms so will have them both pumping, my inspiration is the Bezerker from GoW, the way it sprints is really frightening and cool. I have finished assembling one termi, i went for a pose that says 'Mon 'en, i'll gub yah, yeh wee fudd!'. These guys plus the contemptor are probably gonna be part of a new Deathwing project.

'Drink yer broth, yah derty midden!'

'I cannae stan you!'

'Gahn Fiel!

Here's him with a nearly finished veteran

A few comments on the kit, first of all it's NOT finecast, although there were a few gaps and slight misallignments there were none of Finecasts trademark bubbles. Second of all i really love the segmented shoulders but they are a real pain to align, they're supposed to line up with the top of the hunch but i couldnt manage with the pose i chose. Last of all they are clearly modelled to fit the poses forgeworld chose, the only problem is the poses are ugly. A quick note, they look pretty cool with the normal termi arms, it makes them VERY bulky but if that's what you want i recommend you give it a try. Oh and you dont get a spare bolter so you have to use the flamer which is annoying, even if it is cool.

A few questions for the readers:
What do you think of a dark grey and yellow scheme with red accents? The grey would be Astronomicon grey mixed with black and the yellow would be the same one i always use.
What do you think of the name 'vigilant sabres'? A bit generic but i wanted something Dark Angel-ey.

that tartarus terminator looks very good... rather hit a very soft spot with me... somehow this look seems more convincing than the GW standard termie look...

as for the questions...i think some red in the mix would look very good...and would also tune in with a bit of DA theme...

the name...well...sabres sounds allright...but the vigilant then sounds a bit lame to me...tho atm only other s-words would come to my mind but that would give a no go for a name of the chapter...

the paintjob looks very good!

Yeah vigilant is a little lame but i want something obviously DA, they are vigilant for the fallen.

Cheers Neil, just for you:

Hello!

Spent my day off lighting a fire and asembling and painting this guy to 80% completion. The Contemptor is also taking shape, i have pinned all the points of articulation but still need to get the shins and feet on, which a proving a pain.

Here's the termi, it still needs some perfecting on the grey and yellow and i will probably have the 'gubbinz' silver. The bolter will have a red casing to show the dark angels connection. All in all this model was one of those figs that was 'a joy to paint', it's hard to describe.
