So I find myself in a very awkward position this week. I work in a record shop right now but honestly I make gak and while it is a great job sometimes money comes before enjoyment. So one of my friends well telling me the local staples is hiring. Now there are two problems with this, 1. the manager is my ex 2. it is staples.

So the choice is this dakka, do I apply and get the job (because I will get the job) and make more money but live in a boring sexually charged hell? Or do I keep my awesome job were I make almost nothing

Get the job with more money by sleeping with the manager, easy.

Staples. You get better pay, and you know the boss. But that could also be a bad thing.

I say yes. Nothing would make me happier right now then working at a GW or maybe a gamestop. But i make good money at my job even if the end of the day i end up cleanung a grease trap and cutting veggies(not in that order mind you)
Or dealing with a boss who looses your school schedule 3 times.

She is a ginger menace who claimed i knocked her up and because of that her dad tried to jump me.

None the less green heals all wounds so might as well try. I am just going miss sitting on Dakka all day smoking a cigarette in the store and insulting customers with my boss.

Pretty soon I will be wearing a Staples shirt that says "Johnny".... Oh happy days

Stay with the Record Store and be happy.

Staples doesn;t reaally pay all that much either.

Instead, improve yourself so your choices go beyond record store or Staples.

Why cant you do both? I doubt a new hire at Staples (Or any retail type for that matter) will be a full time position. Stick with both, youll make more money, but still have the job you love being at.

Yeh go for the moldy pizza muffin. Work hard and aim high, but not too high.

Because in Northern California even finding a job is difficult. Throw in that I am not done with college yet and yea.

Well it depends really, I am not familiar with Stapels, or your ex. But I say be damned careful, it could turn out to be rather awkward if she is the psycho thing, or you dumped her in a rather unfriendly manner.

Go for the cash, live like you're still making less, and save all the cash you can. Chicks dig it when you can afford your own car / place and not feed them ramen noodles.

How much more are we talking? I can't imagine staples being much better pay. If your ex is the manager I would say its a gakstorm waiting to happen and would advise against it. Slightly less money with a job that makes you happy is considerably better than having more money and having a job that makes life hell. Not to mention if work is stressing you out beyond normal, how is that going to affect your coursework and grades?
