Here's my list. The idea is to not waste points on Monoliths and the 13 armor vehicles as they are basically big targets for the excessive amount of anti-tank weapons and my venue of late.

10 Triarch Praetorians (Entropic Strike; Voidblade; Particle Caster)

Fast Attack: Canoptek Scarabs
10 Canoptek Scarabs (Entropic Strike)

You're investing too much in foot slogging troops that are getting left behind by a fast army. Lose enough warriors to buy some night scythes, you'll appreciate their ability to stun lock vehicles, also 2 spyders will get you a 3" boost on the charge with those scarabs. You have a real alpha strike chance here, i'd capitalize on it by shedding the dead weight of those big troop squads.

I don't know about the Triarch Praetorians, mostly due to never having seen them used before. You could just as effectively have a unit of 10 Warscythe Lychguard, and a veil Cryptek to deal with heavy vehicles.

The idea is to hit with the entropic strike units and strip the armor off of nasty units. Praetorians may not be high strength models but they can hit with 30 Entropic Strike & Rending attacks on the charge with an effective 18" charge range(backed up by the Res Orb Lord with Warscythe). Once all the Entropic Strike units do their thing the strength 4 and 5 Troops weapons should be glancing and piercing any survivors with ease.

Right, but why spend so many points on troops?

The third was points left over and large scoring units seem to work well with the Necrons. In my experience the opponents I've faced have had to use their whole armies to talk down 1 squad of 15 warriors. Having 3 similar units forces them to divide their fire power, increasing the survivability off all 3 or forcing them to take 3 turns killing troops. This of course also assumes the enemy isn't trying to kill the Entropic Strike Units.

Your armies one of those specialist armies. the ones that are good against veichle-heavy enemies but bad against everthing else.
plus i think you need some covering artillery because your just going to be blown to bits in the first couple of turns.

YOU NEED A OVERLORD!!!

THE NECRONS ARE COMING!!!

We've had a large increase in mechanized units at our venue.

I don't want an Overlord as he takes up a Destroyer Lord slot, and I need those to lead the Wraiths and Praetorians.

Right but considering the meat of your army is so fast, those foot slogging troops are an anchor you're dragging around. I'm telling you, 2 night scythes will not only help you keep those troops alive, they'll also contribute useful firepower to your full assault.

Praetorians, Scarabs, Wraiths, and DLords are Aggressive; big warrior blocks on foot are defensive. You're splitting your own purpose by denying your forward units the fire support that will come with having more mobile troops; or just minimize your troops and throw them in reserve, and jam in more aggressors.

I'd try Night Scythes out if there were models for them and they weren't armor 11 and no QS.

Yeah, sucks waiting for those models... but with the news about Tyranids and Space Wolves finally getting their second wave, maybe GW is stepping up, and we'll see some scythes, spyders, wraiths, tomb blades, etc... soon.

Okay, well that's all i've got. Everything else looks like it's building to be a nice aggressive list, but the lack of total commitment to aggression means you're probably going to end up splitting your forces a lot as a consequence of the disparity of movement rates. Best bet, if you're sticking with big troop squads, tesla immortals at least let you move and shoot at full range. 3x10 immortals will save you 76 points over those warriors. If you shave off 2 whip coils you can afford 1 spyder for each of your scarab swarms, giving you an extra few inches on your charge, and 2 monstrous creatures to help your immortals out if they get bum rushed in cc.

Overall, against a vehicle-heavy army, this list should excel. I understand the troops however, none of the necron troop choices are terribly fast, but thinking of them as mobile firing blocks, nearly impossible to move off objectives isn't really a bad thing, it'd really just be one of those things where you will just too to get a feel for the list, and see what works and what doesn't....never was a fan of the MSU approach anyways

Yes I did do some tweeking and with two less whip coils, a partical Beamer and droppong one of the troops squads I can get 4 Spyders. I only have two right now so that list will have to wait.

I dig it.

I would try to add MSS and SW to both the DLords if you can.

The 2+ is a great soak to keep your Wraiths/TPs alive.

I disagree with the notion that you'll be good against Mech heavy but struggle against others. I could see this list functioning quite well against most armies.

Check out the tutorials on frontlinegaming.org - Reecius posted a guide to making spyders out of other crons...

I had those in also, but by shaving off the points I was able to make the troop blobs larger. Necrons seem to excel with strength in numbers and suffer from excesses in war gear but I would like to test it out both ways.
