So my LGS put this pic on Facebook saying that these boxes will be available on the 25th ONLY:

Didn't find anything about them on the GW site yesterday, so could someone tell me what's actually in these?

I presume it's typical GW limited production runs to further enforce their wondrous 'high pressure' sales abilities.

Edit:
Decided not to be lazy and hit Google, apparently these rather large boxes just contain one finecast miniature of a Crimson Fists captain? Surely there's some memorabilia in there too?

he's normal 28mm scale, right? Hrm... gratuitous packaging methinks.

There's the cost of it somewhere, yeah.

But he also comes with a relatively big scenic base and a banner.

Yeah, they killed all the links to it on the GW site. Apparently, it's so special that it's mere image will cause the whole internet to grind to a fault. Or there are so few unflawed examples that they're trying to hide the fact that they were even produced.

Actually, it's because they've sold out of the stock they had allocated for online sales.

A finecast limited release? Count me not counting the imperfections in the model, since you can count me out.

God I hate GW sometimes. It's more like $60us here.

Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?"

Does anyone think the 25th annniversary stuff has been flat to date?
Sure I know its only February so they can belt out more stuff later in the year but to date Im kinda disappointed.

I was really hoping for some classic articles, flashbacks, "through the years" pieces, old reps rooted out etc etc.

Please, that would be so awesome. I think it's sad the wealth of photos and articles that they sit on and don't give any access to.

Sadly the problem seems to be that 40K is popular and, therefore, GW are happy to let this slide by without feeling the need to really push it. LotR is a disaster area so a huge relaunch. WFRB is struggling so it gets the lion's share of WD at the moment. I was extremely surprised by how the 25th anniversary section of WD was so small and lightweight compared to the WFRB content in the same magazine. Surely 40K's anniversary demands a virtually dedicated WD not 25% of one?
