well, having so much valuables in his chest after only a week or less on the server, it was kinda suspiscious.

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

All my chests are hidden and I carry most valuables around with me (this can cause lots of problems too though).
Darkinnit, maybe put it in your FAQ that its best to place valuable items into hidden chests to help prevent griefing?

aye.
the best way is simply buried in a place only you know with a subtle marker (maybe in the corner of a room, or under a flower),
or maybe with pistons a hidden lever (buried/behind a wall) which reveals a hidden room.

a) 1 min 45. That's exactly the time it took me to get from my place to yours. After walking 50 blocks away from my house, I could see yours. Quite isolated indeed.
b) Then, your house was clearly inspired from mine, everyone that saw the two houses agrees. Which implies you "visited" my place, and liked what you found in there.
c) In addition, there is only one way to get to your place, and that's through my nether portal. My nether portal is right next to my house. Are you telling me that you made all the trip from your castle near avatar's house to your new place on foot?
d) Finally, I lost 18 diamonds, 20+ blue dye, and almost an entire stack of iron. Guess what? That's what Dark found in the chest you had hidden near your house.
e) I had collected these diamonds over the course of two months. Not a single one had been used as a tool or lost so far. You joined ten days ago, and yet end up with all these shiny resources by just "walking around"?
Yeah right.

Yeah, I did find those minerals legit. In Dakkatown, I just went mining straight away. I take every resource I find underground. I also made a giant mine in 'The bastion of stone'. I had 13 Diamond in the first day. Its not hard to find diamonds. I have a house pretty much exactly the same in single player. I use Single Player Commands and various others. I walked for ages and dark even knows I walked so far, I was lost. Half the time I am not actually playing and I saw your house, but didnt go inside. No one had been where my house was, apart from me as dark was telling me why my items hadnt despawned after a day. Someone was on when I said 'I was going to go on an epic quest and get lost, miles away from everyone else. Anyway why would I want to steal your items when I already had the same ones? Oh and wouldnt they be hidden? How would I of found it? It really is time to just start burying valuables and bypassing this drama and frustration, guys.
Even with all my chests full of stuff in my main room by the mob farmer, I still have stuff secreted away that I view as worth a lot. It's so little hassle and nips stealing right in the bud :(

the thing that makes multiplayer minecraft difficult is the fact that anything you create can be destroyed by someone else, so even if you make everything out of obsidian it still can be broken into its more difficult.
even traps can be bypassed once someone comes across them, it would be nice if certain blocks could be toggled between being only destroyed by the owner or anyone.

I have the largest structure on the server as far as I can tell, with tons of people visiting and building, dozens of chests in the open with all the rare stuff in hidden chests. People are invited to take some materials and help build.
not had one block stolen or destroyed, when someone throws something rare-er in the donation chests I grab it and put it in a hidden area.
But really if you hide your chest room behind a wall in a non obvious spot with no door or anything leading to it, its fairly difficult to find, if you leave no open air blocks around it it won't be revealed by wallhacks, and if it is, dark is very good about restoring missing stuff and removing the offender.

Take the portal in mordor, that's the cobble building in the middle of a lake of lava in the nether. It will lead you "the Moria". You'll understand what I mean once you get there.

it's a big area in the nether which is pretty cool but the nether is unmappable, foggy and dangerous so Its difficult to get to.
I was more implying that alot of people get shown the castle because its cool and you literally walk past a dozen chests on your way in and we do not have a thief/grieving problem, at all.

It's not in the nether. That's just Shrike's Mordor. The portal in Mordor goes to Gooda's place. Gooda's place is in the normal world, but is underground.
