They really need to put the painboy and mek on 40mm bases, don't fit to the standard.

Yeah. Those sloths can't even get the profile of their super-duper-exclusive datasheet right. Fail.
Also, frontal and sides 11, rear 10? Gee, thanks a lot. Who needs lascannons when you can kill that thing with S6 weapons easily, never mind dedicated AT.

Not really digging the new ,mek boy and pain boy. I am liking the idea of cheaper deffrollas and rokkits. Hope the price drop applies to battle wagons too.

Actually, I like both the new mekboy and the painboy. Mekboy is pretty generic. Not ugly but not bad either. Painboy looks really a bit crazy. A maniac you wouldn't want near your squishy parts. Or near you at all... just the way I picture them.

The Looted Wagon doesn't look bad at all when it comes to options choices, the only things that make me a bit sad is that we're still stuck with Rhino armour chassis with no way to armour it up (was hoping at least AV12 front) and that we lost the Boomgun. Hopefully they don't nerf the Killkannon but otherwise it's pretty good for what you get, especially now with Unbound and unlimited detachments for Battle-forged armies.

I got so excited about the Looted Wagons I forgot about the new models!

I don't care for the heads, luckily those are the easiest things to change. The Mek one is even ok...the Painboy does not look good to me. Barely any lower jaw (a defining Ork characteristic). Are those stiches or teeth on the Grot? Just looks...not finished.

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Compared to the Old Painboy this new one looks great. I liked the old head, but the rest of the model was pretty gak. Also way better than the Grotsnik model, and will work as a great counts-as. New one looks really gribbly and ready to slice you up, plus awesome grot orderly ready to pump ya full of fightin' juice! Head looks weird, but that's most likely the angle, the optics he has remind me of an optometrist's, and adding a medical reflector would be no problem.

Mek looks like a mek - hopefully he's nob-sized and we get to swap him around with other bodies from the nobs kit, SAG mek, and Flash Gitz. Also hoping that it's more than just that model and pose, or else they should have kept the KFF mek and Boss Mek models. Those could come with the MANZ though, which brings the thought to mind that it may be possible to build a "Meka Nobz" squad in the kit.

Wait, so is it bad that they are going back to the old way of giving optional rules for units or good? DLC good or DLC bad? White dwarf good or white dwarf bad?

I get confused what we're supposed to be mad at now.

It's not that complicated: Including rules in White Dwarf is fine, so long as they make those rules available in some other fashion when the White Dwarf is no longer available.

Making them exclusive to White Dwarf, meaning that only those people who actually pick up that issue will have access to them? That's a bad idea for all sorts of reasons.

Dont Press That still is the biggest problem with the vehicle though
It was a fun Boomgun platform that had a 1/6 chance to do nothing that turn
with the changes it will be an even more fun thing, cheap deffrolla, cheap strong weapon, retaining the transport capacity, and who knows what awesome things are on the Vehicle Equipment list in the new codex
but it will never be good enough to replace trukks and battlewagons due to the randomness of Dont Press That

Codex, Waaagh Ghazkull Supplement, and a set of cards, art prints, and objective marker (coins I assume)

Makinit wrote:
Where did the BOOM Gun go? That was the best part of the looted wagon.

It gained the Killkannon instead- 1 less strength, 12" less range, 40 points cheaper than the old boom-gun, and 30 points cheaper than the old killkannon, making it a far more viable option. And it doesn't lose it's transport capacity, and can take a deffrolla, so now the looted wagon is basically a pocket battlewagon.

 Dakkamite wrote:
This is definitely an army designed for the multiple FoC nature of 7th though. Three Looted Wagons might be good value for points, but its rubbish value for Heavy slots.

Lootas moving to HS makes the HS quite crowded, pushing for multiple FOCs. On the other hand, Flash Gitz picked up the nobz ability to take trukks and battlewagons, so perhaps say Lootas and Burnas will pick up the option to take Looted wagons as dedicated transports?

On the Don't touch that, I doubt it will let you get a second ram or tank shock. For one, those are done in the movement phase, and the rule says make a flat out move, which is "up to 6" with nothing saying that it can't be less.

The Dakkajet and Stormtalon were exclusive to WD for a while, then came out in Death from the Skies, then added to the codex. Looted Wagons could be WD only for a while, then added to a supplement of some sort, or digital dataslate more likely.

Yup. And that particular White Dwarf sold out in most places in a couple of days, and then nobody else could get the rules for 6 months.

Fun times.

White Dwarf can be downloaded now, so always a way.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

You can water down the detrimental effect of Don't Touch Dat by taking multiple, dirt cheap Looted Wagons.

Being intentionally obtuse is neither clever nor cute, pretre. There are tons of people who have looted wagons, now the only place for their legal rules is in a random issue of WD rather than the fething Codex where they belong. You know this.

 pretre wrote:
More on point, however, is the fact that GW is releasing rules in WD again rather than just through Black Library. And yet we're still not happy.

How is one better than the other? Rules should be in the Codex, not scattered to the wind in various publications.

They wont do it, pretty simple.

The rumor mentioned a "Warboss Edition" of the codex. The rumor mentioned that the rules for Ghaz would only be available with this edition. So..

I also used the little phrase, "If this is true...," so no one is jumping the gun. I haven't sold all my Orks and ragequit or any other reactionary hyperbole.

The rumor (at least the one I read) said the Ghazghull Supplement would only be bundled into that edition, not the rules for the Ork himself.

Im anxious to see that stats points on the KFF big mek and painboy. Hopefully battlewagons didnt get some kind of nerf as well.

Got to like the painboy except the head but not a problem.

Mek boy doesn't look great but maybe we will get a few small option's in the kits

Looted wagons dirt cheap so how cheap are trucks going to be ?

Mek boy appears to come with two arm options- the choppa and a buzzsaw thing.

Looted wagons are about the same as before base price, so I don't expect trukks to go down by much if at all. Maybe 30 points.

Battlewagon probably won't get nerfed, in fact the new prices for some of the wargear and gun upgrades may instead give it a buff of sorts, but with the price of the deffrolla cut in half, I expect that to get a rather strong nerf. Perhaps to d3 hits instead of d6, or a reduction in strength.

I can see (though disagree) with removing the Boom Gun, as it was specific to this model, and never produced.

Why wouldn't GW take the opportunity to allow Looted Wagons to take, oh, I don't know, Kannons, Lobbas, Zzap guns, or

THE NEW MEK GUNS THEY JUST PRODUCED?

I mean, it would seem to be an easy way to get some added sales. An ork player is gonna have those guns laying around if he buys a Mek Gun Box, so why not make them game legal and 'encourage' him to buy a rhino/Chimera/Leman Russ to bang them onto?

I don't get how they can figure out every niggling, exploitive, beardy way to part us from our cash, but when we would gladly throw them some more money, they drop the ball. It's like they have some geas placed upon them preventing them from just making something we are excited to buy.

It's Heavy Weapons, icon is in the top-left corner.

Has anyone noticed this?

Looks like previous speculations are correct - upgrades are being put into a larger chart that can be picked and chosen by certain units. Hooray..?

'Orks Vehicle Equipment List' seems like a pretty bland name.

I was kind of hoping for wargear tables called things like 'mek workshop', 'pile o' gunz', 'da trophy rakk' and so on. Even the Tau lists have more flavour.

EDIT: I wonder if 'Ard Case will offer any extra benefit to justify a 15 point cost, or if it will still be a waste?

I'm going word for word by the white dwarf rules, a loot wagon is just a cheap Gorkanaut.
