Ive recently aquired more storm troopers, now at 29 I belive, Howver I dont know how to use them with the best 'Doctrine' like option, and wargear. Heres what I have:

3 Sergents
2 plasma
2 melta
2 Flamer
18 troopers
2 grenade launchers (going to sell, not worth it in my eyes, good idea?)

I generaly use infiltrate, and do 2 squads, one with 2 plasma, one with 2 melta. Sometimes I outflamk the Melta, as tanks are always near a board edge and withing range 90% of the time. However Im not sure how to apply the flamers, and if there is a good way to use any of the above as faar as deep striking, infiltrating, or outflanking.

Squads of 5. Deepstrike with melta guns and waste enemy vehicles. If you're not willing to proxy, stick plasma on the others and deepstrike next to enemy MEQ.
Don't use them like normal troops, they're 16 points for a T3 4+ model.

Ever thought 40k would be a lot better with bears?

I love stormtroopers, they've definitely gotten me out of a few binds. Trick is that they aren't veterans, so don't even bother trying to play them like you would play veterans (most people on Dakka can't seem to figure that out). I generally only see 4 viable builds for them and even then only in games that are 1750 points or higher.

1) x5 Stormtroopers, x2 Meltaguns, Chimera (ML/HF), Recon *(my favorite)

Great utility and tons of deployment options here. Remember that scouts is confered onto the dedicated transport so you can scout up to 12", you can outflank (with or without the transport), can get meltaguns where they are needed and still have the mobility and protection of a chimera transport.

2) x5 Stormtroopers, x2 Plasma, Chimera (ML/HF), Recon

Similar to above. Can still deal with armor by hitting sides and rear with outflank/scouting fun, but has more shots to deal with heavy infantry.

3) x5 Stormtroopers, x2 Meltaguns, Airborne

Pretty much a suicide melta squad, which is how most people run them. Personally I think this is just a waste of a perfectly good unit.

4) x5 Stormtroopers, x2 Plasma, Airborne

Similar to above, but much less useful. If you need these guys to kill heavy infantry to give you an advantage.....you have other issues with your list.

This, or this with plasma to go light vehicle/MC/TEq hunting.

If you have a jewelers saw, a plasma pistol and green stuff you can convert your grenadiers and flamers to plasma gunners quite easily

I have found my 5 man melta squad invaluable to deal with the things my vendettas struggle a bit against (like land raiders), and even though they die, its not at all a waste of a unit, because they have done their job.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

I usually use the suicide melta role for vehicles. I just wish you could have three like vets. I don't know how many times I've rolled double twos only to have them die horribly the next turn. If there aren't any vehicles then squad selection is key. I've heard the stormbolters vs hotshot lasgun argument but I once had a squad of stormies pimp slap a squad of grey knights who were out in the open. I am also 3-0 vs incubi in the open. The problem with stomies is that just when you are about to melt them down they do something productive, which tricks you into continuing to use them. That and I just love the Karskin models. For all the complaining they usually do something about 2/3 of the time. What I don't get is how if they are the elite of the elite why is their non Sgt Ld 7 and they aren't even stubborn? The stupid Penal legion is better in that regard!

Thirded Its what, 105 points? Thats not too bad for a suicide Melta unit. Sometimes they even survive.
