Not sure if this should go in painting and modeling or here, so ill ask here anyway, what do you guys do for the 4 blasters in your trueborn squads, im thinking of taking the shredders and nipping of the spikey bits to make them into makeshift blasters.

you can also use the blaster pistol barrel and cut a rifle down, adding the barrel to it. And if you are not using the Dark lances from any of your warrior sets, chopping that down has a close look to a blaster a well

I modeled some from disintigrators, some from Dark Lances, and some from the shredder + blaster bit from the reavers.

I bought 4 boxes of warriors for my army, giving me 2 10man squads of Warriors, and two units of Trueborn. I used all 4 blasters for one squad and snipped the barrels from Darklances for the other squad. I still have all the shredders for 5 man blaster squads if I feel the need to make those.

This way I have consistant looking weapons for all the squads: One squad of TB, doted on and adored, gets brand new, top of the line blasters for its raids. The second squad gets hand me downs: cherished relics from Grandfather's raids on Mon Keigh thunderwarriors. Bulkier, perhaps, but no less deadly.

The Warriors, however have to get by with left over, cobbled together crap. Hell, the damn things don't even LOOK like Blasters. They get the job done, but its like comparing a factory production AK to some POS stamped out of old tin cans in your basement.

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

well except DE technology has not changed at all since the fall. These are warriors not soldiers. they likely get whatever weapons they can get their hands on.

It sounds good though. however you want your army to look is best.
