Ive tried looking this up on google, and either Im asking it wrong, or google is failing me.
I want to be able to printscreen to save pics of ingame stuff (the wife and I play it) but Im having problems, 2 mainly.
1. I push the prntscrn button, and it captures my desktop, not the game world. On my old PC Id push that, and it would get the game just fine, new PC, no dice, just desk top.
2. Once I get that figured out, how do I set it up to drop the image into a designated folder? Instead currently, I have to open paint, and paste it there, then save. Thats annoying, I just want to push a button, get the image, and have it drop into a folder. So far, Im failing on both
Fix this for me, Im going mad

Try alt + printscreen, I think that is supposed to capture the focussed window.

Do you have the game loaded on steam? F12 is the screen capture on there IIRC

OK, I found a guy that has me on the right track for screenshots on WoW. It only took 8 pages in some random thread on doing this to find his response. The annoying thing is, there was a bunch of Windows7 techs on their telling everyone that prntscrn still works the same way (even though, it fething doesnt)
Alright so I can now prntscrn again, but now.....How do I get it to drop into a folder?

Well when you print screen it puts it in memory. So open up an image editing program like paint and just paste it?

Should it not automatically drop all the screens to the main WoW folder (into a subdirectory)?
Something like C:/WoW/main directroystuff/screenshots?
I'll have a looksee when I get home for you.

Nope I figured it out, odd how sometimes you get different search results for the same damn thing.
Anyways, how I to do it was right click on the WoW icon on my desktop, goto properties, goto compatibility, then click on disable desktop composition. Then I had to download a program that let me store the image in a picture format to whatever folder I liked. The only problem with this setup, is when I click my auto run (num lock) the icon for locking/unlocking my numlock shows up now. So maybe Ill see if I can turn that icon off? I dunno.
Weird thing is though, with the game set how its set, whenever I click on it to play, I get a pop up saying something about windows being displayed in basic? Any ideas on that? I switched it back to how it was originally, but at least I know how to get the damn thing to work. Pretty big annoyance to go through, when from windows 95 to Vista, prnt scrn, meant it captured the game I was playing.

The windows basic on/off thingy might be to do with this KC
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IE/windows7/products/features/aero
Since under your properties->compatability you have now turned off the desktop composition, 7 is disabling aero when warcraft is running.
Its no biggy, I have the same setting for when I run BF3. Once you close WoW completely aero should automatically turn back on.
I'd just change your autorun key because everytime you boot up warcraft it'll enable/disable your keypad locks? Could be annoying.
Did a bit of reading around the issue, its a really bizarre one, Im on 7 (64 bit) too and never had an issue with printscreen or taking screenies, they just got automatically sent to a WoW subfolder on my main drive. Weird.

Check your key bindings in game, but I thought there was an option in-game for a screenshot? Usually dumped it in your WoW game folder.
Course, that could have just been FRAPS...
