No integral bases is cool. Makes for much easier time using them for dioramas, and various game system. Is that one guy carrying an MG belt around his neck? If so, that's pretty ahistorical, not to mention uncomfortable.

I don't think the ammo belt around the neck is ahistorical. A quick Google search will reveal quite a few photos of German soldiers with ammo belts around their neck, at least one of which is pretty iconic (It's in pretty much any History Channel documentary ever, and is probably what a lot of the minis with ammo belts around their neck are influenced by).
As far as the minis go, they aren't horrible, but I've seen better as well. Depending on the price, they might be good for beefing up your forces a bit, but they're not my favorite 28mm option.

It's uncomfortable as hell, but not ahistoric... it's even done today in some cases (though not for long distances).
I've done it when I get 2.5 boxes of ammo for the M60... gotta carry that half box somehow.
