I need some ideas for a necrons color scheme. This is important because if I don't find one I will eventually lose interest and waste all the money I put in buying minis for my army. To many people this might sound stupid or whatever but I have innattentive adhd that is not entirely managed by medication and it pretty much controls my life. It has manifested itself into the 40k hobby where if I can't stick to and paint a cool/interesting color scheme for my army I get distraught and end up just moving on to something else. This happened in the past where I wasted 1000s of dollars on armies in the past but that was before I was in treatment for my disorder. I hope that now, and the help of some members, I can finally beat this thing and be able to create a full fledged army.

The most important thing to me is finding a unique color scheme for my necrons that also looks good on the tabletop.

If anyone has any pictures to share online or of their own that can sort of inspire me in a certain direction, that would be great. Painting is my favorite part of the hobby, but its also what holds me up the most. These pictures anyone posts of sample schemes would be greatly appreciated.

Please help, and thanks in advance.

or these...

Which looks more unique/better in your opinion? I'm having trouble choosing between these two schemes, personally, and some other people's input would be useful. Please feel free to post some interesting ones too please.

Thanks

Make tron crons! with the tron colors

You are not free whose liberty is won by the rigour of other, more righteous souls. Your are merely protected. Your freedom is parasitic, you suck the honourable man dry and offer nothing in return. You who have enjoyed freedom, who have done nothing to earn it, your time has come. This time you will stand alone and fight for yourselves. Now you will pay for your freedom in the currency of honest toil and human blood.

Paint 'em like cows. Or paisley. Both of those would satisfy the "unique" criteria...

I vote the black and blue. They look very unique!

IMHO The white does not look menicing enough.

I'd go with the first, definitely. Bone white looks great on Necrons, and should be fairly easy to achieve for a full army. The second scheme is OK, but I think it'd be tedious doing all that highlighting and layering white paint on top of black. And it still wouldn't look as good as the first.

I don't see models with a rainbow paint scheme. That would look pretty sweet!

Both look good in my opinion but I'm leaning towards the black and blue. It would look amazing if you could pull that off for the whole army

The Tron Crons idea is more eye catching and singularly a nice color scheme. However it looks like allot of work for a whole army. I like the bone colored scheme myself. I've always done traditional Necron Color schemes for the most part, but the bone design is my second favorite. It has been done very effectively by other artists and looks like a scheme that can be easily replicated.

So, I guess it depends on how much work you want to put into it versus just how unique you would like it to be.

I say go for the Tron colors. Though have you seen the 3rd edition codex? There's plenty of color schemes that they explore, and it could give you a bit of inspiration.

I do enjoy the 'Tron-cons' but the bone colored ones look great as well, really accentuates that skeleton quality the necrons have.
