Hi there, i run the blackforge blogspot, its my personal blog for projects i do or commissions i receive, it can be found Here!

So here's a previously unseen look into my workspace;



and now for the brief;

To build and paint 5 honour guard and one Captain Shrike. The honour guard must be magnetised so that they can switch between lightning claws and old fashioned bolt pistol/chain sword set ups. Since i'm still waiting for the forgeworld elements of the brief, i've started by drilling the pins into the bases, and producing a test marine using the plastic kit elements; note that the kit hasn't been cleaned yet, nor is it put together well as its blu-tacked together so i can get a feel for how the marine will look.




there's some issues to do with the joints and shapes, but once forgeworld's parts arrive i can begin to adjust and resolve them in a finalised way. For now i am happy with the way the magnetization works. I think makes the lightning claw options beastly, but hey i'm bias.

Thanks guys, the first squads are loosly blue-tact'd and magnetised, the clients approved so i can finalise then begin painting;




I'm really happy with how they look in full lightning claw mode, they also have a full set of normal combat llimbs and power weapons magnetised.

I always love me some Raven Guard, consider me subscribed. Looking forward to more.

It's time for an update, i've been busy for about a week but i've put down the basics for the first model. Note this is still WIP, the flesh, OSL and highlights are in need of some work, this was sent the client to get approval on the 'flavour' of the paint scheme. He was very happy with what i've done, so i'll be doing the 5 honour guard in the next few days and finishing Shrike off.

I really like the gritty feel of the power armor.

I agree, armour that looks like its actually seen battle! Really nice work

These definitely have the Raven Guard feel to them. Completely BAD A$$ comes to mind.

Shrike is nearly done, with the exception of a few touch ups and some tonal work on the grass (placed to blend with existing units in his army) and face, as well as any requests made by the client;








I'd normally like to be done, but i've been involved with a charity event for the past 4 days and is not going to be done with till tuesday so i'm waiting for that to finish before i continue the work done on the honour guard.

Looks good... but his face looks zombieish I know its Raven Guard and all but a lil to much imo.
