Blood Angel Terminator with Lightning Claws

I know this is probably a really dumb question, but what would be a good way to go about painting Grey Knights. As with my Tyranids and Blood Angels, I've been trying to emulate GW's 'Eavy Metal team in how to paint my miniatures. I've gotten good results out of it and I'm really happy with how my Blood Angels have turned out so far (don't have time for Nids atm).
So here's what I was thinking:
Prime Black
Boltgun Metal all over the model
Wash of Badab Black or Asurmen Blue
Cover model with a 1:1 mix of Mithril Silver and Boltgun avoided the recesses.
Use Asurmen Blue wash sparingly on some recesses thus giving it that bluish tint they have on the box cover.
From there I'm not sure where to go with the models since I've never done Force Weapons, but I have done bolters. The gold writing is easy too. I also don't have a clue about Purifier heads. I'm not sure how to do them without making them look bad since its solid white.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to paint GK? Also how does the 'Eavy Metal team do it? I know the WD from April of 2011 has a giant section of how to paint GK, but I have no idea what's in the magazine. If anyone has the steps I'd appreciate it or any steps that have worked well in general.

I prefer Chainmail over Boltgun, personally. Its the intermediate between Boltgun Metal and Mithril Silver. My process is
Prime Black
1-2 thin coats of Chainmail
Deep Asurmen Blue Wash
Retouch using Chainmail, avoiding recesses
Light highlight with Mithril Silver
You're on your own for Purifiers, but for Force weapons my process is:
Base of Shadow Grey (off of Black Primer)
Gradually layer/wet blend from Regal Blue to Ice Blue, with 75:25 Ice Blue/White highlights.
I haven't perfected Force Weapons yet but this is how I make them, and they turned out decent... YMMV.

For the Purifiers helmets I would basecoat them seperately in a white spray (attach them via pins to a long piece of sprue and spray them before you stick them in position). I did this for my Red Scorpions and it worked great.
Then give them a wash of either watered down badab black (if you want to keep the shading neutral) or badab black and asurmen blue mixed 50:50 (if you want a cool tone, to match the armour). After that you could re-highlight with several coats of watered down white.

I've got a tutorial for painting Grey Knights to this standard on my website:

I hope this helps but if you have any specific questions I'd be happy to answer them.

Thanks to all 3 of you! I think I may go with Chainmail over Boltgun metal then.
AlexHeap, how do you go about painting the weapons like the Psycannon and force weapons? I thought your tutorial was great.

The colours on the psycannon are painted in the same way as on the main body of the model except the metal is Boltgun Metal, washed with Badab and then highlighted with Chain mail.
As for the force weapons I wet blend them:
But you can also use an airbrush or even just layer them if you don't mind the transitions being less smooth. I use the Reaper Master series Pure Blue triad for the colurs:

I found for white that a grey base, badab black wash and then layering from codex to fortress to white worked well but you need quite a few watered down layers.
For the force weapons, there is an amazing video on youtube somewhere by a girl from the forum, not sure of her name but she's definitely German. Might be something like paintgirl? Or paintinggirl? Either way the tutorial is awesome, taught me how to wet blend.

AlexHeap. Thanks, but I was specifically referring to the red on the Psycannons. I should have specified.
shiftystylin. I think you are referring to girlpainting. Her video is partly the inspiration for the original idea I had for painting GK. I just haven't looked through all of her videos.

The Red on the Psycannon is the same as on the purity seals in the tutorial. Mechrite Red base layered with Blood Red, highlighted with Blazing Orange and then a Baal Red Wash.
