Hello all,

I'm looking around for packs to add to my Imperial Guardsmen. I'm designing them fairly utilitarian, and the DKOK backpacks would probably work fine, but I'm trying to customize as much as possible here.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I've been looking for months with few results.

thanks,
Bestest

Finland... the country next to Sweden? No! That's Norway! Finland is to the east! No! That's Russia!

You should check out the DKOK engineers for that.
Also, you could try the Cadian Hostile Enviroment backpacks.

Sweet Jesus, Nurgle and Slaanesh in the same box!?
No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

Well the problem is cost. I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative than Forge World. Sorry, I should have mentioned that in the first place.

I took a loot at Secret Weapon. They have some large backpacks that might work. And Pig Iron looks promising too. I'm just trying to find more ideas than the big three.

While I don't play guard, These are some of the nicer ones I've seen

Check out the rest of their bits, they have some great guard stuff based on real life like Shotguns, assault rifles and snipers. I have bought from maxmini, their stuff is impeccable. Mine had zero mould lines, and were perfect casts.

I was going to suggest Secret Weapon, I like their packs and have a few myself, good quality stuff. I'm not sure if it's shown on any pictures, but the packs are shaped exactly to fit a Cadian torso, which makes things dead easy

I would suggest Kromlech or maxmini they have a nice backpack for guard.

(maxmini sells the kromlech stuff or you can go direct to kromlech through his ebay page... soory I don't have a web address for you but it shouldn't be too hard to find him as a seller with a shop under the name of kromlech)

Pig Iron do a nice selection of more high-tech looking packs and pouches, some shown here on my stormtroopers.

@ bubber: Do you know how well those would fit with cadians? And is there an option to buy just the backpacks or is this a single kit?

Pig Iron is my fallback if all else fails, but I'm looking for more uniform packs than theirs. Though I do like the high tech look.

I personally rather like the pig iron ones, but like you say, they are very 'troops on campaign' looking.

Just a link to Secret Weapons ones, they look pretty nice, but I prefer Pig Iron.

I'll have to dig out my Black Dog bits & blu-tack some cadians together.
I looked at the site today & unfortunately they don't come separately

Eureka Miniatures have a good and cheap little set that offers you three packs that're suitable for Imperial Guard sized models. I've used a couple of them before.

I don't know if it'll be cost effective enough with postage and all but.

The Assault Group has some cool stuff. I'm planning on using these for mine. Also, curiously, many of the backpack photos are taken upsidedown. Either way, if you hunt around the site some more, I know there are some British WWII packs you may also be intersted in.
