Finally finished painted and basing two of my Zombie Guardsman for use in my Renegade Army.
Basing itself I'm not too sure on (some times I love it, some times not so much), the necron parts have come from some of my Necrons that fell victim to a collapsing display cabinet.
Anyway first two are done, third is being based.
Apologies for any blurring, my other half usually does the photography but these I did myself.
Any C&C would be great. This army will be the first time I've properly tried painting guard and the very first time at painting zombies.

Thanks guys, third one is now done and based. I'm a CCS away from a 500 point force but these are the only ones fully painted. Its slow going but should be a nice looking army when it all comes together.

great work, I just think the flesh is a little too "fresh", perhaps a little more grey or green tones would be better.

Cheers guys, I had been experimenting with a few different colours on the skin but without it coming out cartoony it ended up going for a far more natural shade. I've not really got much experience with painting rotting or damaged flesh yet so its very much a development as I go. Odds are the later models will look more rotten

Yeah, zombie hands are just freakishly large to use in standard models, some of the more mutated models I will be working on will feature them as the exception rather than the rule.
Good example is my counts as Harkness in the PM section, it sets him apart from the rest of the squad and is a sign of more "favour"

Not a bad start. There are still some mold lines that need to be taken off. The highlights are large and crude, and will require a little more work.

Thanks guys, I've started work on another two of the lasgun zombies this evening and hope to have a squad done within the fortnight. Also looking into some of the other WFB kits to give a more "dead civvy with a gun" look to accompany my current more militarized units.
I'm working on blending a little bone with green to give the flesh on the next batch a little rot in places so I'll see how that goes, and will try to refine my highlighting a little more to make it less blocky.

Currently they are a counts-as guardsman force, with the intention of developing into several character pieces for a counts-as GK Henchmen list focused around a nurgle cult priest (inquisitor) and his mutated henchmen (various types of henchmen). Once I hit a healthy 500 point patrol force of "imperial guard" I plan to start diverisfying the conversions I can do into characterful henchmen, that way I can play with my guard force whilst assembling parts into a 500 point GK henchmen list.

I'm currently elbow deep in an infantry platoon I need to finish and currently only have the 4 models fully painted above, which leaves me at near enough two full squads, pcs and heavy weapon platoons still to paint. But given that I have little to no self control I have ordered some renegade bits, flagellants and other bits to be combined into zombie goodness. Pics should be up more next week when I finally get a day off to sit down and paint but all is progressing fairly well now.

I might try a two-step highlight on the shoulder pads, though, as they're the largest, smoothest area to be highlighted. The current edgelining is a bit wide and stark, there, while it works well enough on the guns.
As for the basing, the rock piles (are those ballast?) look a bit unnatural, both in shape and placement (obvious cover for the end of the basing bits - in your first model posted, it looks like the 'cron has lumpy grey entrails). I'd consider mixing various sizes of basing grit into a single application, in order to achieve a more natural mix of elements (small clusters of similar material are fine, as the mix around it will make the spread and transitions appear more natural). Trimming the underside of the bits more and applying the basing grit up to the edge will let you get the buried look without having to build the bases up so high.
Even with those issues, I think a force of this quality, scaled up, would be rather badass. If you can make further tweaks in your methods at this early stage, though, the net improvement multiplied across the results will be well worth the initial effort. Regardless, I like where this is going.

Cheers for the advice, basing is one of the areas I have very little experience with and the one part that I am somewhat cheaping out on at this stage literally relying on a steady supply of broken miniatures, sand and what remains of the grey gravel that I invested in in the past. I may have to either buy in some varying sizes of gravel/slate or select prefab bases in the future to try and prevent them detracting from the miniatures further. Thanks for the comments and advice though, I may well have to stop cheaping out on bases if I'm going to keep blowing money on the rest of the model .
Highlightwise in hindsight I may have just been being lazy, when painting orks I've always used 3-5 layers on the skin but I seem to have scrimped a little on time on the little armour these guys are wearing (2 layer). Will see how I can rectify this in the future.

"Cheaping out" is no defense when you can scrape the solution off of the roadside! Fine grit (dry soil, fine sand, or dusty roadside grit), medium-coarse sand (you've already got that), and fine gravel or coarse ballast (already got that, too) are all you need (well, you also need bits, in your case, but that's taken care of) for a decent variety of terrain effects - it's more about the application than the materials.
