Here's a situation we came up against today, which we weren't sure how to resolve.

- A squad contains 6 Scourges.
- In Turn One the squad are reduced to 5 Sourges.
- In Turn Two an Independent Character joins the unit, boosting the size of the unit to 6 again.
- In Turn Three, the squad lose 3 Scourges, and flee. At this point the squad contains 2 Scourges and 1 IC.

Can the unit regroup in Turn Four? Is it below 'half strength'?

What is the 'starting strength' for the purposes of calculating 'half strength'? Is it just the unit size of 6, or is it 6+1 IC (7). Or, since the IC has joined the unit of Scourges, and it is the unit of Scourges that takes the test, not the IC, do we stick with the unit starting strength of 6.

If we say that they CAN rally, are we're saying that the unit could be reduced to only 1 Scourge, but be joined by 5 ICs and still be at 'full strength'....?

IC's do not count for determining if the unit is at 50%.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

It works exactly as Happyjew said, and as stated in the FAQ. ICs simply don't count towards unit strength when determining if the unit is below 50%.
